Trump Voters are Waking Up to Reality, and it Isn’t Pretty

Then I'm not sure you really understood those principles in the first place.

I understand them, but politics is only good for destroying things. It is quite useless for noble and benevolent causes such as the advancement of liberty, at least so long as the establishment is around, we will never have the numbers.

Therefore I will use politics to destroy the establishment. If that makes me a bad libertarian so be it. I see it as something that must be done if we are to stop pissing around with half-assed campaigns to secure the GOP nomination for the liberty movement, only to realize the establishment is setting up roadblocks and moving goalposts every step of the way. Enough is enough.

Now THAT'S a "big tent".

LOL. I would have to disagree with LE that Trump would 'save the country." My motives for wanting to support him are purely about knocking out the GOP establishment.

The next 4 years are gonna suck regardless of whether it is Trump, Cruz, Sanders, or Hillary, but I don't want to miss out on a chance to run the neocons out of the party for good, and only one of those 4 people are in any position to do that.

I really hope the GOP establishment tries to swindle the nomination from Trump and they anger their base. I hope the establishment denies Trump any support in the general election and he wins anyway. And I hope the liberty movement is ready to swoop in and pick up the pieces in 4 years, when the American voters decide they didn't really like Trump and the old neocons who once ran the party are all senile and trying to vote in nursing homes with their bingo cards.

A poor example of that would be this piece by my colleague Daniel Horowitz which addresses at least arguably a real issue, but cloaked in so much rhetoric that rises immediately to the level of 11 that it gives the very clear impression that Central American kids who cross the border without their parents should be left to starve.

Bill Clinton May Have Just Cost Hillary the Black Vote

April 8, 2016

Philadelphia, PA — Hillary Clinton has been performing well with minorities so far in the 2016 Democratic primary, but that could soon be changing. Bill Clinton may have just severely damaged the former secretary of state’s reputation among African Americans by committing a major gaffe — one he is now “almost” apologizing for.

At a campaign stop in Philadelphia on Thursday, Bill was interrupted by protesters — a common theme this presidential election. The protesters, mostly young black Americans, interrupted Bill’s speech to air their grievances about his sweeping 1994 crime bill — the largest ever passed. The bill, sold as a way to effectively fight inner-city crime, actually helped expand an already developing trend of mass incarceration that had an overwhelmingly negative impact of the black community.
Signs reading “Clinton Crime Bill destroyed our community,” and “Hillary is a murderer” could be seen waving in the audience as Bill was interrupted Thursday. He caused a major backlash in the the African-American community when he decided to comment on the people who were incarcerated because of his crime bill.
I don’t know how you would describe the gang leaders who got 13-year-olds hopped up on crack and sent them out in the streets to murder other African-American children.Maybe you thought they were good citizens…You are defending the people who kill the lives you say matter. Tell the truth. You are defending the people who cause young people to go out and take guns,” he said at the campaign event.
Hillary Clinton was a major supporter of her husband’s crime bill when she was First Lady. As we reported previously:
“Hillary Clinton lobbied Congress to pass the Violent Crime Control and Law Enforcement Act. Bill Clinton signed the act into law in 1994… The largest crime bill in history, it provided $9.7 billion in prison funding. From 1992 to 2000, the amount of prisoners in the U.S. increased almost 60%.”
In another recent incident, Hillary came under scrutiny for alluding to young black males as “super-predators” in a speech in 1996. She, like Bill, has been confronted by activists for her contribution to the nation’s mass incarceration problem.
Hillary is facing eroding support from the Latino community, as well. Recent polling shows her previous popularity among this key demographic has evaporated — leaving Bernie Sanders with a slight lead of 48% to Clinton’s 47% in Latino support.

The point is he is not taking support from his opponents like Mitt did to Santorum and McCain did to Guiliani. And when other candidates drop out, he is taking only the smallest share of that support. If you want to dig deeper into predictors for this polling behavior, look at 2nd choice numbers. Going all the way back to last summer, Trump's 2nd choice numbers are extremely weak (like in the teens when his 1st choice numbers were in the 30's).

Did you type this nonsense with a straight face or was it just handed to you in your little cubicle with your paycheck this week?

"Mitt"? Really? Are you on a 1st name basis with all of the GOP wanks-in-chief? So, it's Ted, John and Paul for you? We called him McGuiuliRomTorum, IIRC. Guys like you just don't get it, or are paid to feign ignorance.

The party is instructed whom to select by their owners. There is then Iowa, NH and SC, after which the winner is announced. The other 47 states and territories can all put their votes away and embrace the coronation, where Hobbits like yourself fawn.

Some of us like the brash billionaire pushing his way through the door and disrupting that pathetic excuse for a political process, especially one who says "Audit the FED", "The 911 papers will be released", "Get these POS criminals the hell out of our country and show them the actual line to get in legally", etc.

It's the party wanks like yourself who are the target of the disdain which is loaded with votes for Trump.

Your forum pollution is irrelevant.

+ You must spread some Reputation around before giving it to Bossobass again.

Your reply is rightfully of how people used to respond here to paid establishment talking points being read off as well as anything by Leon. Mind totally blown that the guy that once banned discussion of Ron Paul from Redstate and still refers to Ron as "scum" is now being promoted in Ron Paul forums.

wtf?????

Is choosing a board of neocons to advise him on foreign policy part of that plan? Will the likely appointment of his friends and associates Rudy Giuliani, Chris Christie, Sarah Palin and Richard Haass further your goal? Why were all of his reported $1.5M in political contributions given to exclusively neoconservative politicians such as John McCain, John Bolton, Mitch McConnell, etc. in the past? Did he need to give Mike Huckabee and Peter King money so that his real estate business would continue to be successful?

A while back, some people left a flaming paper bag full of trumpshit on the front porch of RPF and rang the bell. Now it's been stomped on and it's still being tracked around the whole site. It's especially sticky and smelly.

You have no problem with the promotion of an establishment hack author here in Ron Paul forums that disparages Ron Paul supporters and refers to Ron Paul as scum?

Still attacking the messenger I see.

Let's please keep this civil, everyone; stick to the facts and logic -- and avoid personal commentary on other members. It doesn't prove anything.

The only irony here is some forum members giving a pass to an author that trashes the very people that post here when they did not in the past.
Thanks for bring this up, I understand your point, authors like this aren't people the liberty movement should want to elevate. That said, not everyone knows the history of many writers so some material will get posted. That said, we don't need to be like others and ban things. We haven't had to deal with this issue much.

I don't think his post had anything to do with the promotion of the author; it was a commentary on the post he was quoting.

What do you think he could do to knock out the GOP establishment? I'm interested in procedural details. I ask because I just don't see it happening, it would take too long with too many pro-Trump GOP operatives and too much money to get it done. Sure, a few GOPe types will likely get knocked around some this year, but they will soon be back. A more likely possibility is that if the GOPe sees they are going to have to cave with Trump being the nominee they will broker a ceasefire with him, which he'd take. Does Trump really have an axe to grind with the GOPe or is he going after them just because they are currently in his way?

I think a ceasefire is more likely based on the principles that rich and powerful people know how to choose their battles and Trump vs the GOPe long-term isn't a win for either of them. There are enough prizes for both sides to take advantage of without going after each other.
