Trump Trial Begins - Necessary Or Political?

Tomorrow begins the bizarre second impeachment of former president Donald Trump. The chief justice of the Supreme Court has declined to participate even though that is required by the Constitution. No witnesses. Is this just a political show trial? Also today: Tom Brady drives them crazy for not wearing a mask. So do celebrating Floridians. Iowa takes a step toward sanity.

its both .....necessary
....and.... political.

A.J's impeachment = political

WJC's impeachment = political

DJT's impeachment = both

Andrew Johnson may have slowly, carefully & deliberately fired Sec' of War Edwin Stanton
in order to argue out the point in terms of Constitutional Law. Had he been convicted, easily
all of his POTUS pardons would have been put under review, and they might have been taken
away. Instead, he wins. Is in office until March of 1869. If Trump is at all guilty of any degree
of instigation concerning the riot on January 6th, even if there are other factors, and planners
pulled the thing off, whether they had Trump's help or not, his connection to the event other
than his speech at the rally has to be looked into even as we think over his inflamed crowd.

If only they'd impeach a president for his real crimes, instead of making up goofy things. But, of course, most of the House commits those same crimes.

We got to a point in the impeachment trial where Senator's Leahy's age has caught up with him.
Right now, Utah's Senior Senator just got some remarks LEE is said to have made by a reporter
in a newspaper article withdrawn, SENATOR MIKE LEE said he never ever made those remarks.

D.J Trump looks like he did next to nothing right after the rally... they just did a timeline of his actions that day.
It looks like his being out of the command loop got him impeached. He did not immediately respond to the riot.

If you cannot request the Chief Justice to preside and instead have a Democrat Senator, who acts as both Judge AND Jury, then it is political.

He offered 100k National Guardsmen ahead of that day. He was turned down. This is not about what Trump did. It's about what the Congress FAILED to do, and I believe on purpose, and now want to cover up.

I remember hearing him say that he wanted the NG I thought he was going to do it. I was surprised to hear that the NG wasn't there.

BTW, why are we even having this conversation? The prima facie absurdity of this "event" is all we need to know.

Seems like we need a poll...

Done.
