President Donald Trump on Thursday threatened to withhold his endorsement for any Republican who votes against his multi-billion dollar rescissions package, which includes cuts to federal spending for public broadcasting and foreign aid.


The package includes $1.1 billion in cuts for the Corporation for Public Broadcasting, as the White House has said that NPR and PBS have "spread radical, woke propaganda disguised as 'news,'" and $8.3 billion for the United States Agency for International Development, as well as other international assistance programs.


Trump warned Republicans in the Senate not to oppose the legislation, claiming that public broadcasting was even worse than left-leaning news outlets like CNN and MSNBC.


"It is very important that all Republicans adhere to my Recissions Bill and, in particular, DEFUND THE CORPORATION FOR PUBLIC BROADCASTING (PBS and NPR), which is worse than CNN & MSDNC put together," he said in a post on Truth Social. "Any Republican that votes to allow this monstrosity to continue broadcasting will not have my support or Endorsement. Thank you for your attention to this matter!"

The government does not need money to operate because it controls all resources and enforces regulations. Money and taxes constrain citizens, not the government. Debt and spending limits are meaningless for a sovereign government that issues its own currency. I personally would like it if pres got out of endorsement business all togeter. Ya , senate totally sucks and wont vote for cuts , we already know it. Reliably bad. Rand is only reliable vote. Trump endorsements going forward may be as problematic as beneficial in swing areas. Trump is not future of GOP, Vance may not be as well just by assaociation. Harassing Democrats would help them with their voters.

And the people who opposed the bill were holding up important necessities that needed to pass, they also made it easier for the RINOs to make the bill worse and extract things they wanted in return for their votes because people like Rand would not give their votes.
No bill was going to pass the Senate that Rand would like, so the necessities like border security and deportations either wouldn't get funded or they would.

Trump is now pushing through the recissions and losers are complaining that he's threatening the RINOs.
