Trump no longer trusts the NRA

Opportunist: good for the wrong reasons; ie: not principled; can/will turn on a dime.

President-elect Donald Trump and his inner circle have reportedly cooled on America's largest gun rights organization due to what he felt was a lack of support during his re-election campaign.

Bachenberg reportedly wrote in his letter that Trump has expressed anger that the group has paid tens of millions of dollars a year to a lawyer who has donated to Democrats.

"Looking forward, 2025 represents the first time in years the NRA can focus on rebuilding," Hamlin said.

A lawyer who has supported Democrats? The NRA themselves have supported Democrats many times, including supporting Harry Reid, when he was Senate Majority Leader, against Sharron Angle, who was obviously light years better than him on the right to keep and hear arms.

Should rename it to NDHRA

National Deer Hunting Rights Association

Or NRMO, National Rifle Manufacturers Organization.

Once it is seen that their main constituents and funders are not so much those who exercise their right to keep and bear arms as those who sell guns, in particular the large gun manufacturers whose biggest customer is the government, their behavior makes reasonable sense.
