Everything had seemed lost, he's down to 0% in some major states, and now Trump has inexplicably pulled a complete reversal on the issue that has catapulted him to the top of the polls just prior to what should be the most watched primary debate in history. All Rand has to do is pick up the ball Trump dropped and ride it to victory!

And the fact ending Muslim immigration was a prominent position of his father's adds a huge dose of much needed credibility to Rand's position.

I'm not an advocate of any ideology which will cause the demise of American culture. Rand has softly spoken about the fact that America can't accept a never-ending flood of refugees from the Middle East.

He needs to make his message more straightforward,...to say that America will accept no Muslim immigrants from the Middle East.

The person who says that will get the conservative vote in America.

This is the story of the year, and getting out front of it as the candidate who is on top of it and who shows the compassion that American voters see themselves as having will be a great way for him to get back some steam to his campaign.

the voters, especially republican primary voters, have no interest in compassion at the moment. the only reason trump is even a factor is because of this. Rand should not support their coming here..

When the barbarians are storming the gates, nobody wants to hear a lecture on how we got her from a "teacher". They want a leader. Hammering on the idiotic foreign policy decisions that helped create this problem (and remember, less than half the "refugees" are actually from conflict areas so this problem exists even without those mistakes) is all well and good, but the crisis is upon us now and Rand needs to make clear that he will stand to defend Western Civilization against the current invasion.

While that is all good and well; its dodging the question. He can talk about that all day long but it will be pointed out that it is not a solution to the current problem. Its a treatment for limiting future problems.
