excerpt:

Donald Trump realizes the danger of admitting refugees to America. He says that some of them may be members of ISIS. He understands how places like Paris are no longer "recognizable" because they have so many Muslim immigrants. But then he says that for humanitarian grounds we have to let them into America, despite the security risk. In other words, he puts the well being of Muslim refugees ahead of the safety of Americans.

If Rand wants an issue to stand him apart from the crowd, here it is. Rand needs to come out STRONG against the U.S. accepting ANY refugees from the Middle East.

On the contrary, Rand should come out in favor of letting us welcome as many as we want, rather than bossing us all around and telling us we can't.

This still gives Rand the advantage over Trump, because in Rand's case it shows his consistency, and in Trump's is shows how flawed his anti-immigration rhetoric has been all along. Trump continues to shoot himself in the foot.

Strongly coming out against immigration from Muslim countries will give Rand the boost he's been looking for. If he doesn't do that, he doesn't want to be elected.

Agreed that if Rand says to bring them in here, he may as well hang up his presidential aspirations this time around.

What a strange thing to say. Why?

This is the story of the year, and getting out front of it as the candidate who is on top of it and who shows the compassion that American voters see themselves as having will be a great way for him to get back some steam to his campaign.

You're just wrong. When Americans see this picture, they don't say to themselves, "We want to help people like this man. So let's elect the president who will tell us we can't."

Because nobody but brain dead liberals want them here.

There's no issue that Rand could gain as much popularity with than not accepting Muslim immigration into America. Trump has dropped the ball and it's right there for a candidate to pick up and run with.

Rand (or any other GOP candidate who wants to be nominated) should be shouting it from the rooftops.

It's good for America. It's what Americans want, and it's there to be taken.

Rand needs to get on it now.

Not everyone from the Middle East is Muslim. What about the Syrian Christians who are being massacred there now? If I was there, I would want to come here.

Your opinion on the matter is that of a very tiny minority of Americans. And virtually *none* of them are Republicans.

Are you suggesting that America should have a religion requirement/restriction on immigration?

And the refugees who are Muslims are converting to Christianity in droves.

BGFree may not have heard about this. But Americans who are regular church-goers and who vote in disproportionately high numbers in Republican primaries are hearing about it and praising the Lord. We want to be a part of this.

Oh,...so Americans want the country flooded by Muslims?

Who is out of touch?

Trump manages to say something humane and it's a rotten egg?

In Trump's case I think it really is. He has dug himself into a hole with his unrealistic anti-immigration rhetoric, and the more time goes on and the more opportunities arise that force him to clarify and change that, the more he will see his supporters change their minds about him.
