Trump just stated he is open to funding planned parenthood... Is this the final straw?

Trump supporters on the forum are agreeing that this is bad... Rand NEEDS to attack this and HARD. This is really bad for him. How could people stay with this? I know he won't lose everyone or even most... But this is really bad and lines up with Rand's attack of being shady. Obamacare funds community organizations like this and therefore even pro-choice republicans wouldn't be for this.. Horrible position.

Trump will eventually just backtrack on it, or say he was taken out of context or whatever, and Trump supporters will eat it up and be on their way as if nothing happened

Did Trump just say he's open to funding Planned Parenthood?

I am somewhat unclear on the matter.

Please answer in this thread and then start two more on the topic.

:D

I think this is definitely going to hurt him. The conservatives supporting him are going to be thinking hard after this.. Planned parenthood pissed way too many people off. This was so so stupid.

This is the kind of stuff that happens when your campaign manager quits because you decided to wing it.

at least he didn't say "legitimate rape"

I hope teh Donald doesn't drop out. He's the only redeeming factor in the entire election clusterfuck, except for Vermin Supreme.

He'll rectify it after Corey reminds him that he said he wanted to defund it, lol.

This will not hurt Donald.

I don't see it hurting him

If you read the article, he says absolutely there should be no funding of the abortions and that is the part people are really upset about. I don't think people care whether or not the other services are paid for with taxes.

Yes... But he is open to funding the organization which is terrible. Planned parenthood shouldn't get funding. Technically, they don't use tax money for abortions right? but funding them after the videos and the fact that obamacare already pays for organizations that do what they do.. This is going to hurt.

true...but you cant split the two.

It'd be like if I had $100 to my name, tell you i need $1000 to pay my bills because im broke. You give me $1000 and I pay my bills then go blow $100 on 10 gallons of skittles. Would I have been able to afford the skittles without your money even though technically it was my $100 that went to the skittles? No.

Fact is, PP couldnt have 900 offices open ready and willing to do abortions without my money...irrelevant of how their washington fuzzy accounting works.

2 Rep. senators voted to fund this monster that's it. People are pissed about this. Rand is in perfect position to attack him on this and he already is.

LMFAO...

The more Trump opens his mouth the more he will destroy himself. Like I said, MASS exodus by the end of September. Rand and Carly attacked Trump on debate night. Expect more candidates to follow suit whether on their own or forced to by a so called journalist's question...

Rand is in position on this issue to attack. The voters KNOW IT.

This can be great for Rand. He needs to talk about THIS a lot! This is something that will really resonate.

I still think they only way <<this>> would make him toast is if he had left out the part about not funding the abortions. We can get into the details but to the general public, funding planned parenthood as it is currently is the only thing that would really knock him down. That's my view, anyway.

My understanding is that he said he opposes government funding of PP for abortions, but that he supports government funding of PP for other things.

But of course, since money is fungible, funding the latter effectively amounts to funding the former ...

The position from the GOP candidates has to be defund, partial funding is being spun as 'for' funding PP, because that is how it is playing to the GOP electorate.
