Highly successful casino owner/reality TV star turned politician, who used to fund numerous Progressive Liberal Democrats/Clinton Foundation and whose top donor is a pro-Iran war Israel-Firster liberal progressive globalist neocon, is taking a stand to put America First or "follow the money" doctrine at play here?

Trump vetoes Iran war powers resolution, swipes at Republicans who backed it

By Louis Casiano | Fox News

President Trump vetoed a war powers resolution Wednesday that would have curbed his ability to unilaterally launch military action against Iran without Congressional authorization.
In a statement, Trump called the bipartisan measure "insulting" and argued that it was part of a ploy by Democrats to divide Republicans and oust him from office in November.
"The few Republicans who voted for it played right into their hands," he said. "Contrary to the resolution, the United States is not engaged in the use of force against Iran."
The Senate passed the measure 55-45 in February with the help of eight GOP senators, and so did the House in March, 227-186 with help from six Republicans. Both chambers would need a two-thirds majority vote to override Trump's action, which is highly unlikely.

Be interesting to see how non-gullible wing of GOP responds to this report, especially former Bush-Cheney supporters who currently identify as GOPA-wing supporters.

Mega-donor Adelson, with access and influence, scores two pro- Israel victories
These are heady days for casino billionaire and megadonor Sheldon Adelson.
A passionate and hawkish advocate for Israel with close ties to its prime minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, Adelson was in Jerusalem today for a celebration of the U.S. embassy’s relocation to that city, a longstanding priority for the mogul. Similarly, Adelson had pushed hard for President Donald Trump to pull out of the Iran nuclear deal, which happened last week.
And the day after that announcement, Adelson quietly slipped into the White House for a private meeting with Trump and three top administration officials: Vice President Mike Pence, Treasury Secretary Steve Mnuchin and an Adelson favorite, National Security Adviser John Bolton, according to two conservative sources familiar with the previously unreported private event.

Senate fails to override Trump's veto of Iran war resolution that would have curbed his ability to launch a strike

WASHINGTON – The Senate on Thursday failed to override President Donald Trump's veto of an Iran war powers resolution that would have curbed his ability to launch a military strike against that country.
In a 49-to-44 vote, supporters fell short of the two-thirds supermajority needed to overturn Trump's veto, which came Wednesday evening. The resolution would have barred Trump from using military force against Iran without explicit congressional authorization.
In his veto statement, Trump called the resolution "very insulting" and leveled unexpectedly harsh criticism at Republicans who supported it. He argued that Democrats were using the issue to divide the GOP in an election year.
"The few Republicans who voted for it played right into their hands," Trump said.
Sen. Tim Kaine, the chief author of the resolution, blasted Trump for bringing electoral politics into a debate about war.

But potentially this development could make things more difficult for war lobby neocons funded politicians if anti-neocons Amash got to play media and won a place on 2020 debates stage.

H/T ss :

As tensions between OPEC (cough - the Saudis - cough) and Washington rise over the supply (and price) of oil globally amid a pandemic-driven demand collapse, it would appears President Trump may have just gone 'nuclear'.

"...there will be blood."

The Wall Street Journal reports that The U.S. is removing Patriot anti-missile systems from Saudi Arabia and is considering reductions to other military capabilities - marking the end, for now, of a large-scale military buildup to counter Iran, according to U.S. officials.

EM.

This if confirmed as non-fakenews could be a game changer potentially and may even lead to slippery slope of more mideast exits and make above veto somewhat easier to swallow for anti global intervention folks.
