Trooper Fired After Brutally hanging/Kicking Police Dog Gets His Job Back w/ back pay.

Are they talking about Jones or Ricoh? They clearly say dog(which Ricoh is), but I'm not sure.

They're talking about the dog training. And this is one of the training exercises they use to make the animals dangerous enough to use against the criminal types among us. Especially those criminals types that like hiding in their own homes while using a particular herb. Gotta make sure the dogs are tough enough to deal with that kind of criminal.

I've read that animal abuse is linked to serial killers, domestic violence and human abuse. Glad I don't live in the Town of Apex.

Can anyone link to their outrage when the story first appeared in 2007 ?

Im not for abuse to animals (unless for self defense) but some laws are a bit redundant (victimless) ie: If I can't yell at my dog for while jumping out of the yard and running across the street without the neighbor calling the cops and wasting one hour of my time with an officer then this cop should tried and hanged for what he did. Which is going to be? are animals treated as humans or animals? Can cops treat animals the same way they treat humans??!!

I missed it 2007. I'm sure if you did a search you could find it. This is relevant because he was just re-instated in appeals court and is to be given almost a quarter million in back pay.

GOT A PROBLEM WITH THAT?

If you hit a police officer that's a Dog= jail time.

If you hit a police officer that's a human= jail time.

If a police officer(human) hits a police dog=$200k in back pay.

If a police officer(human) kills a non police dog= combat Qual.

Local paper if you want to write a letter to the editor asking why the town would hire such a scumbag.

Edit Note: He is currently back on duty with the N.C. Highway Patrol.

The issue I see here is not that he should have to face any strong legal consequences for what he did, but that he shouldn't ever be allowed to serve as a law enforcer. The guy clearly has mental problems.

Personally, I think that back in 2007 he SHOULD have been charged with a Class I felony. If any citizen were video taped hanging their dog and brutally kicking it this is the charge we would have faced. IF he would have been charged at the time then his record should preclude him from ever serving as a police officer such as the job he got four years ago in Apex, N.C.
Since, I can't go back in time I would at least like for this scumbag to not be rewarded with a quarter million dollars for his actions.

Maybe, but that's the past. What's important is to prevent this lunatic from having a position of power over people ever again. Altough apparently he's already working for some other police department.

This one is gonna make your blood boil.....

Appears he is now currently working with the Highway Patrol's Accident Reconstruction Unit.

While working Apex for he received two promotions and a Medal of Valor for being the first to respond to a Target store shooting in which the shooter committed suicide.

And of course he's looking for more payout by suing the ex-Gov. Easley and the Highway Patrol for wrongful termination.

“We're very happy that Trooper Jones is back to work,” Midgette said. “He's a fantastic law enforcement officer. He's a credit to the profession. He loves the highway patrol and he loves his dog.

How about a fireman shooting his two dogs rather than board them so he could go on vacation? I think he got off too.

Hell, while I'm at it might as well contact the NCPBA and ask them why they are in the business of protecting animal abusers...

Yes, John Midgette. This decision does speak for itself.
