Trey Grayson was a good student, a good basketball player and considered a number of very good colleges to prepare him for his dream: He wanted to be a career politician. Take a look:

Benjamin Franklin warned about what he called those "scoundrels" who pursue politics as their career:

"And of what kind are the men that will strive for this profitable preeminence, through all the bustle of cabal, the heat of contention, the infinite mutual abuses of parties, tearing to pieces the best of characters? It will NOT be the wise and moderate, the lovers of peace and good order, the men fittest for the trust. It will be the bold and the violent, the men of strong passions and indefatigable activity in their selfish pursuits. These will thrust themselves into your government and be your rulers."( Smyth, Writings of Benjamin Franklin 7:4 @ 591-92)

What is it that motivates the men seeking the office of United States Senator this year? A fair question to ask, and and important one for them to answer I think.

I have no doubt that his daddy promised him at his young age that he would be a US Senator. No doubt at all. It was ordained by TPTB. Rand is currently threatening to piss in his bowl of life cereal.

Wow.

Just wow.

Really Trey?????????

It is starting to make sense now why Trey is not dropping out for party unity's sake. He really thinks this seat belongs to him. Does anyone know if he's ever been seriously challenged in a campaign before? Perhaps this is his first true challenge. Maybe that's why he's running such a 3-legged badger of a campaign.

"UPDATE: An eagle-eyed reader sends along a newspaper clipping that demonstrates that Trey Grayson wasn't always so hostile to Duke University:"

I thought you were against conspiracy theories? Are you suggesting he planned this out a long time ago? How many other people were in on it?
