Trailing in Eventful

RP will overtake Obama on eventful within a couple of weeks and their matrices will never cross again...check out the meetup.com numbers, for example. Obama's got less than 6,000 members and RP has over 15,000...and ten days ago, RP had about 9,000! They are growing exponentially, RP has 5 or 6 new groups a day forming and Obama has one new group forming every four or five days. About 20 times the daily growth for RP, and none of the other Republican candidates are anywhere close to Obama.

In short: the numbers don't lie, this thing is blazing all over the country and gaining steam even as the MSM and bi-partisan political establish try to keep it down. It will not be stopped.

Thanks for giving me the excuse to show off this Meet Up Groups chart I did yesterday :)

Take a look in the notes section at the bottom. Ron Paul even has support groups in other countries. Seems the whole world may be hoping and praying for a kinder, gentler America

I might as well throw this MySpace members chart up also. Rudy's MySpace shows zero members because his is set as private and I would rather be torutured at Guatanamo Bay than join his MySpace. I wonder if he is hiding Osama in there or something ;) .

Rudy Giuliani doesn't have a MySpace page, I don't think. MSNBC did a review of all candidates this past week, and he was one of the only ones without a page. I guess he thinks he's too good for that sort of nonsense.

Here's the link to the Republican reviews (Ron Paul got favorable marks :D ): http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/19337775/

Thanks PatriotOne, good chart. Ron Paul is picking up about 300-500 new meetup members per day at this point. For example, since you made this chart he is already over 15,000! :D

It's interesting to compare the different online numbers, obviously different sites have different levels of interest/commitment required to register as a supporter, friend, or member. MySpace I give a little less credence to than others because it's so easy to become someone's MySpace friend and no commitment of any kind is required, Obama has 120,000 of them but how many will actually vote for him? Not most, I bet. But RP's supporters are more passionately attached, as evidenced by your meetup.com chart (of all the online sites I think meetup best measures passionate supporters).

Actually tRudy does have one but it's set to private so I don't know if it's active or not. It is listed on the Presidential MySpace main page but if you click on his picture, it's set to private:

I assume it's because he is either ashamed of the friends he has or holding them hostage in there :p . Either way, I equate joining Rudy's MySpace site to selling my soul to the proverbial devil so I'm not making him my friend just to find out. However, if there is someone who has already sold their soul to the devil and want's to join his site I'd be interested in knowing what activity, if any, is going on in there. Also I would check to see if Osama bin Laden has joined his MySpace :D .

Wow, I just did that chart like at 3:00 a.m. this morning  .

See post No. 17 on this thread for explanation of why Obama has so many MySpace friends. Short version is that he forced a guy who had started a Obama MySpace site and promoted him and gathered friends for him for over 4 years. He was forced to give him his site that he did. Talk about a thug!

I like the fact that Ron is the only one with multi-national support on meet-up. Shows hes got the foriegn policy part more than right.

@PatriotOne - Who is the former holder of the Obama site supporting now? Has anybody mentioned Ron Paul to him?

They asked Anthony to suggest a one-time consulting fee in exchange for turning the profile over to the Obama camp. After calculating the time he put into the profile, Anthony requested $39,000 plus the sharing of any fees the campaign paid to MySpace up to $10,000.

The campaign told Anthony that they did not have the money. They went on to accuse Anthony of being a “squatter” and attempting to gauge them. Ultimately, the campaign circumvented Anthony by having MySpace seize the profile, lock out Anthony and turn the profile over them. The 160,000 friends associated with Anthony’s original profile will be transferred over to a replacement profile (once Anthony determines what that will be); today, Anthony’s former profile now in control of the Obama campaign, has 18,000 friends.

The campaign shelled out nearly $500,000 to A.B. Data for marketing services (mailings, lists, etc..) and $127,000 to LSG Strategies for grassroots organizing. I wonder how much A.B. Data or LSG Strategies would have charged for a project as large as Anthony’s profile had gotten (and the years of maintaining it).
