I want to raise the issue of something happening to Ron Paul. As many of you know there are some very evil "evildoers" out there and they would like nothing better than to see Ron Paul wiped of the face of the planet. What do we do if something did happen to Ron Paul? Are we prepared or will we crumble into a pile of despair? I wish someone would create a website that allows us all to stay connected in the event of a worst case scenario. Some people may be offended by this topic but Ron Paul is no spring chicken and he has placed himself in a vulnerable spot.

This is only the beginning of the Ron Paul Revolution. If we do have a setback we need to stick together to carry the torch and make Ron Paul's dream a reality.

Peace, freedom, and justice to ALL.

I think that is a good idea for a website to stay connected. I think the best plan of action to retake the country is to take over the Republican party. We can't do it on our own. We need the Libertarian Party to assimilate back into the Republican party as well. Not to be a downer, but a Libertarian will never get elected to congress or the presidency.

Most people won't do anything, but they will if they see others doing it. Its alot easier to be a follower than a leader, so if we start the paradigm shift back to how things should be run, and we do it in a very visible manner, people will be much more likely to follow. We should make our selves seem much bigger and a much larger majority than we even are, because that is a much easier lead to follow. Just a thought, but the revolution will start on the internet so we should get our ideas out and everywhere, not to stuff it down peoples throats, but rather so people become familiar with them, so when they are brought up in a serious context, its not a foreign concept, and therefore initially evil, but rather they will be a least a bit receptive. Spread the word and get our ideas out and about.

Maybe try not to get so emotionally attached to this candidate or any candidate.

Seeing people come out of the woodwork to recognize Ron Paul's good qualities has restored a large measure of my faith in this country. We will be fine.

Let him inspire us, and let's try to be more like him. He IS a good role model!

Lol

Heck, I got nervous when this forum went down yesterday for about an hour!

Too funny. I thought of the worst. I seem to think that this week will start a huge attack on Ron Paul that will be brutal.

This movement needs a standard bearer and Ron Paul is that man. I do know of a few others that think like him (Larry Elders come to mind but there are others) but they are not politicians. No other candidate is even positioned to carry on in this election so who can?

Just take it one day at a time for now and lets move forward through the sunshine together.

If (God forbid!) something were to happen to RP, especially under "mysterious circumstances," that would just cause his ideas to spread even more quickly. I truly believe this.

We would all flock back to this forum and similar ones, and stay in touch more than ever. We would rekindle our efforts 1000x to bring in our friends and families, because we would (rightly) believe that it could be us on the line next. After all, most of us have made financial contributions to the campaign, and a list of our names would be easy to get.

Let us all hope, however, that we never have to deal with anything of the kind.

I think what Ron Paul has done to a lot of people is wake them up. It's his ideas that get people energized. I know that's what he's done for me. He has gotten me to think that we can change things and vote for someone whose ideas we believe in. As opposed to being limited to voting for a candidate based on who sucks the least. Yes, I'm talking about you Rudy McRomney!

Some of you think Ron Paul is the only human being who knows about liberty. Not true. Don't make this a cult of the personality. We need to take our freedom back, not wait for someone else to do it for us. Voting for Ron Paul is one way to do that, but not the only way.

All this excitement about Ron Paul is great, but it is insufficient to win us back our liberty. The government is more than just the president. We need to start electing more libertarians and constitutionalists to the senate and congress. And to our state, county and city offices. We need to be running for office ourselves. We need real grassroots, that starts at the bottom and works its way up to the top.

Agree

I have to agree. There are actually many that have expressed these same ideas for many years. There is even my favorite radio talk show guy I listen on nightly (Larry Elders) that has the exact same ideas and speaks them often.

Ron Paul is the first in the national prime time that woke people up. He is a great chance for us indeed. It will take a lot more than him though to keep this going. I am hoping that he goes on and makes many more aware and get a real movement going.

I do like the idea that even some of us start running for office. Even if it is running for some obscure office is a start. If anything I like the idea that we will now never settle on anything less than Liberty and never again suffer the fools in the major parties.

Liberty is what it's all about. Some of us may need to reconsider what role the government should play in their lives and build an understanding that the many labels we have plastered on ourselves and others have often been the very thing that divided us.

For years we have heard talk of tolerance, now is the time to make it real. Tolerate that others have the freedom to do things differently and respect that they also have the responsibility as well as the right to live free.

Freedom can be a scary thing for many people, try to understand why.

When talking about entitlements, be respectful of the fact that many people are currently relying upon those programs. Ron Paul understands this and has stated numerous times that the rug would not be pulled out from under these people, there will be dual systems setup and a "hot switch option" for many such situations.

Imagine if 40 years ago our government had started a program to issue all of us shoes every year on our birthday. The shoes would be all the same style and probably a poor fit, but many Americans would be convinced that without that program, many would be shoeless.

This is the resistance, the understandable resistance that many of us will face as Paul's views are expressed.

Something happened?

What do we do if something did happen to Ron Paul?

They won't take it to that level, that would just make a martyr out of him and draw attention to what he was saying. His enemies will find ways to discredit him. I would bet they will smear him either as a racist or as mentally unstable. Those are the two most popular techniques used from what I've seen.

Well, this site should not be part of any threads that label Ron Paul as a racist. Beware of wolves in sheep's clothing. Any thread that attempts to strike down Ron Paul should be met with swift and unending fact.

One who cries "racist!" other than in the context of self-defense is the true racist.

I wonder about that too - the last person in office to actively oppose both the CIA and the Federal Reserve was JFK. Don't pretend that the enemies of liberty would stop short of murder.
