Tracking Iowa Counties that have received Super Brochures

The eastern and western border counties were Romney territory in 2008.

The western border counties from Plymouth down to Pottawattamie went Romney.

The eastern border counties were Romney's stronghold in Iowa, everything from Allamakee down to Johnson/Muscatine went Romney.

I was referring to the counties that border Iowa, not the border counties of Iowa.

I was wondering if there was a plan to get the border counties. Not why or why not, just if there was a plan from anyone to cover any of these counties, once the state is covered.

Why would we cover those counties in other states? Iowa votes January 3rd, those other states don't vote for months after Iowa and Ron Paul's campaign lives or dies in the first few early states. We need to win, and win early to dismiss the "I like Ron Paul but he can't win" mantra. We also have to position ourselves as the anti-Romney candidate right off the bat with an Iowa win, we simply cannot allow someone else to claim that mantle because the 80% who don't want Romney will coalesce behind the person who wins Iowa. We need that person to be Dr. Paul or we're finished. We won't make it to those later states with a viable living campaign, if we limp out of Iowa with a losing zombie campaign.

I advocate attacking the Huckabee counties first, since dozens of them supported him well over 50% and they have nobody to vote for this go around. They would be ripe voters to hit with Ron Paul materials.

I agree with this.

Also, hitting the surrounding counties would be extremely inefficient when we still have a bunch of other counties to IN Iowa to hit.

I don't mean to be rude, but I feel insulted that you dismissed my comment. I said(copy/paste) "I was wondering if there was a plan to get the border counties. Not why or why not, just if there was a plan from anyone to cover any of these counties, once the state is covered. "

There is logic behind why those bordering counties have a strategic involvement. But, as I had already mentioned, it was about after the rest of Iowa was covered.

A simple "No" would have been fine.

Sorry, don't mean to come across condescending, but I'm trying to stress the urgency of winning Iowa. The primary/caucus process is so hierarchical that those early states have enormous sway and set the stage for how things will play out in later states. This is even of more importance to someone like Ron Paul that has to prove his viability early without the help of the mainstream media.

I looked at the county precincts, the larger ones cost more, thus get to more people. I notice that the cheaper smaller precincts get more people donating 20 $ as opposed to $150 for a larger one. Is there a way to split up the larger precincts to give people that can not give as much, so say 4 people donating $20 can cover a large precinct instead of one large donation?

Just do what you can, everything helps whether you fund a $10 precinct or a $150 precinct. I would say $10 in a county Huckabee won in 2008 is worth 10X that amount.

Oops; I have just sent 109 Superbrochures to Woodbury county, precinct 40. If I would have known this before, I would have chosen other counties.

I think we should target Huckabee counties.

Here are the biggest Huck-supporting counties 2008:

It will still help, thank you funding this very worthy project.

Ron Paul won Jefferson County in 2008. Are you hoping the RP "love" spreads from its "Iowa base" by emphasizing Wapello and the surrounding counties?

Huckabee won numerous counties with 40, 50, and even 60% of the vote and he's not running so they would be more open to voting for Ron I think.

Good update! I think we should target Mahaska hard.

That is the county which has the most to win, and yet we haven't done even ONE precinct there!

I agree it is the most important county in Iowa to hit and nobody is paying attention to it!
