Tough choice likely to make Rand Paul first presidential dropout

Blaming the Kentucky law is a convenient excuse for dropping out of the presidential race. He might just use it. In the eyes of future voters, it won't be like he got beat and HAD to drop out, it'll be that he was FORCED to drop out!

Anyway why can't Rand just sit out of the senate next term and run for it again in 6 years?

wouldn't be 6 years, but 4 as Mitch will retire in 2020.
 
There is a zero percent chance he is dropping out after this weekend. He will probably get his caucus. The state party chairman is from Bowling Green and Finance director for the party sold him the property his house in on. I have no inside information but I would be floored if Maddow is right. And if he gets the caucus he will likely be in until Iowa.

That seems to be a likely solution since the Kentucky electors would just go to him anyway.

He takes such a beating by the media it is hard to tell what is going on. After reading a number of articles on it, he misses events - leaves for Haiti (which I applaud him for regardless) and then hearing him saying on Thursday he only has a 1 and 10 chance of winning, it does not sound good.

But despite missing events, Rand did 56 events in the Iowa over 20 days and then you see things like the bumper stickers.

On the other hand it is only a design contest and they can use the stickers for his Senate race.

You applaud him, I applaud him, the general election voters applaud him, yet you keep trying to help Fox propagate the Foxshit that he shot himself in the foot by doing it instead of going to the Iowa state fair, getting embarrassing pics taken of him eating corn dogs, and begging Trump for a helicopter ride.

The lesson is clear. The only reason for Republicans to support anyone but Rand Paul (they guy who polls best against the Democrats) is because they love to lose--as they proved in both 2008 and 2012.

I never said anything about Foxnews, this is all over the media right now. The media is reporting he is missing events yet he did 56 in 20 days. That is really good. It puts him right up there with the other candidates.

And while you're pretending to be the only one who can read, let me try again for those of us who actually can: Fox is just as much a part of the mainstream media as any other major media outlet. There is no difference. That's why they may spin the same story in slightly different ways, but they all run the exact same stories.

Senate seat has to be the priority

it'd be different if Rand was polling like 20% and there might be a realistic chance but we probably wouldn't be in this situation to begin with
