Topic for people who are frustrated with Iowa

Good lord people! Get a grip! This is one state filled with jesus freaks terrified of evil terrrists. There's no way the voters of Iowa (did you see all those old people?!?!) represent voters across the country. Don't give up the ship over this one state. Its far from over.

QFT!

The National HQ is absolutely horrible and if RP doesn't place above 5th, they should ALL be fired. RP has gotten where he is BECAUSE of the grassroots, not the campaign. The campaign asked us for $12 million at the beginning of this quarter "to win Iowa, New Hampshire and South Carolina". If we don't pull a win in NH, RP better realize someone at his campaign isn't doing their job and NEEDS to be fired.

I have been to the National HQ and it was absolutely HORRENDOUS...it was dirty and it did not look professional. Linda Hunnicutt from the Granny Warriors visited the National HQ in December right after Dec. 16th(the Tea Party), she found empty beer bottles/cans in the kitchen and when she asked why they were there...someone at the HQ said they had "celebrated" the success of Dec. 16th.
Also, none of the staff at the National HQ had a Ron Paul bumper sticker on their car, she asked why, they stated because they are "afraid" of what may happen to their vehicle.

OMG! They're boozing it up while we do all the work! That's jacked up. I agree that if Ron Paul had a competent campaign staff we would have been much further ahead! We find out stuff before campaign does. They tell us that RP is going to be on Larry King and then it is never aired. I finally got a "my bad" letter on my myspace today! Time to get some big league campaign staff!!

I caution people not to take so much from the Iowa result or to blame Iowa RP supporters.

As I mentioned in another thread, the ratio of donors per million for Iowa was on the low side compared to other states. Clearly, they weren't as enlightened, which was evident both by donations and the results still coming in tonight.

Therefore, our expectations should not have been high in the first place. To have finished in a SOLID fifth place is good news - in fact, Dave from the Iowa HQ had written here, before heading out to caucus, that "fifth place would be great".

I think we should all be prepared to rally round the Iowa supporters, to console them, not to bash them for not doing more. Most poured their hearts into this effort. There just weren't enough of them.
Thanks for the reminder.

I totally agree. I wouldn't be disappointed except for the expectations and predictions coming from this forum and Lew Rockwell. It gave me hope for something better.

NH is a different story, but just as in every state, stupid people are everywhere.

If New Hampshire turns out like this, I will lose most of my faith in America. It will take another 20 years again to try to revive people. Hopefully by then, the old people will be intact with the internet and get some real news and not the mass media bullsh** that spreads to the ears of slowly losing old folks.

Sorry..by then the internet will be regulated, we will be in federal prisons for trumped up treason charges, and everyone else will be living in federally sponsored tent cities..

be quiet! we worked hard!

Ron Paul was THREE VOTES from SECOND place in my precinct!

well, if you know a ron paul supporter who didn't vote due to the weather or something, be sure to give him a good sarcastic thank you

I hate to say it but 10,000 votes in the whole state?
i think I could come up with close to that in homeless people from Atlanta. Given a blimp and a few months.

the retarded are only out numbered by the silent.

The Farse continues.

The polls were right. That means everything. It means that Ron Paul does not have the support he needs to win because the national polls are correct. We had the best opportunity to win here because voter turnout is low. ALL Ron Paul supporters were suppost to show up but they did not. They didn't care enough to vote for him and so we lost and ended up 5th. We didn't have to place 3rd but we DID have to do better then the polls indicated.

So yea. It's over. Iowa RP supporters didn't care enough to vote and if they don't do it here they won't do it anywhere. We had a fantasy world where we thought we could do super well just because we won straw polls. We thought that because we had more individual donations that we had more people more likely to vote and we don't. The polls are right. The polls say we can't win and by not beating expectations here, we won't.

I'm so dissapointed with the Iowa RP supporters. When push came to shove they didn't vote.

OMG . Well, I also think it is HORRIBLE that RP has not filed an equal time complaint with the FCC like they ( THE FCC) SAID he should do. The treated me like a crank when I called the office, and their lawyer nor Jessie has written me back after I spent 3 HOURS researching this. If he had GOOD (not the unprofessional ads((except the xmas one)) it may have been much better..I mean..I think RP actually converted Cafferty yesterday...
We were wrong about the polls, and I do not think we should even do them anymore. They get too much info from US when we do it, and we may be giving away strategic information.

I am so stupendously angry right now. I see this as a failure of the campaign, and I wanna see some goddamn heads roll.

Ron Paul deserves better than this.

Well "Dave" may think that 5th is just dandy! Why settle for 5 out of 7! I however, think that 5th sucks! We should have took 3rd! I know we will do better in New Hampshire, but we needed to prove ourselves HERE!

Well fuck. I was disappointed as hell with my precinct. We honestly got totally rocked by all the old people there. I did my best with the speech and all, but I guess they are just brainwashed and actually BELIEVE what those other candidates tell them.
It was not you..do not despair..the media has these folks asleep, still. They need more time to wake up..

What is wrong with you all? Its 1 state out of 50, a state that is very highly religious (which means gullible for Huck/Rom), and what really does Iowa offer? Corn? Failure state imo.

Do NOT be mad at the Campaign - If you saw Dr. Paul on CNN this morning he looked beat, like he hasn't had a good night sleep in a while.
Do NOT be mad at the Iowa Supporters - They busted their asses for the campaign, they need to be praised for their hard work not put down.

If you think that we're done after one state then I don't know what to tell you, go home and vote for Huck if you want to just give in. I say we use this to gauge our campaign and double our efforts, I'm disappointed we didn't take #1 (or even #3) but that has just motivated me to start converting more people around me.

Edit Not sarcasm

Peace on.

Look I understand the disappointment. It isn't the Ron Paul supporters who have let us down. It isn't the Ron Paul campaign that has let us down. No, it is our fellow Americans who have let us down. Look at the numbers again.... Fred Thompson in Iowa... McCain??!!

Come on now, this isn't what we wanted but since when did we allow these things to stop us from doubling, tripling and quadrupling our efforts? Are we RevolUTIONARIES OR NOT!!!??

Even tho' I am disappointed by the results in Iowa, remember that Reagan and Bill Clinton also did not do well in Iowa. I will write Ron Paul's name in if necessary. He is still my candidate of choice, very annoying that media kind of overlook him. Cspan had callers for Ron Paul, and now it is on to NH.

toma02 is dead right. I am mostly pissed at the people and how easily they are like sheep headed to slaughter. I mean don't they watcht the news and watcht the dollar crashing? This is going to destroy everything we have. The old peoples money is going to be worthless. They will be out on the streets unable to pay their bills. I think it's time to divert funds from trying to save this country to saving myself and my family. I dropped over $1000 on this campaign and it made no difference. That could of been 2 more oz of gold in my hands when we are forced to leave this formally great country.

I don't think we should blame any RP supporters. Enough with the blame game.

We roll with the punches and work harder, that's it. It's not over by any means!

I'm still optimistic but, man, I wish Ron's percentage would stop going down.
