If you like "Hogan's Heroes," "The Andy Griffith Show," "Green Acres" and other shows from that era, you might also like reading the very, uhm, "imaginative" (and very subjective) character profiles in The Punditty Project's Countdown of the Top 10 TV Greats in Secondary or Lesser Roles. Think The Onion meets Psychology Today meets the most fawning, overly dramatic journalist you've ever read. It's satire that someone like Johnny Fever from "WKRP in Cincinnati" or Chris the DJ from "Northern Exposure" might appreciate.

If that sounds funny to you, you'll probably like these little vignettes (scroll down), complete with embedded You Tube videos (Granny smokes a cig for a cast ad in No. 9!).

Excerpt from countdown announcement report:

"For the most part, though, Punditty doesn’t bother with TV much at all anymore unless there’s a good rerun on TV Land. Sure, he'll watch a DVD if someone drops by with the latest documentary on the metaphysical ramifications of applied quantum mechanics as they relate to the multiplicity of time-space dimensions predicted by String Theory, but who wouldn't? And yes, he has been known to make time to watch a baseball game here and there.

So, if you’re thinking Punditty’s list of characters seems a little dated, you’re right. No matter. The list spans at least 15 years of TV history and honors the achievements of those who entertained America and the world in a bygone era. Inclusion in the Punditty Pantheon is not something to be taken lightly."
