Tomorrow , I have substance abuse class

I worked over 20 years in Body Shops. Working with tools that can rip a car in half,, not to mention a human. Mixing and matching paint colors and formulas.

NEVER was there any kind of drug test. Most guys did use. Often smoked on the job. Took "safety breaks" in the paint booth.

There may be such shops that do test for drugs (none I knew of) But I doubt you will get quality work done there.

In the IT world, there are three types of employee
1) The truly brilliant (<5% or so)
2) The stoners (maybe 20%)
3) The chair fillers (remainder)

You don't see the stoners in power positions very often... but they're a lot more likely to understand what the truly brilliant ones are talking about, in my experience.

Look at something universally acceptable as music..

Or sculpture.....Even painting.

Then of the "truly brilliant" how many imbibe?

Well , my freedom ends in two hours , that is when I have to go to detention.

If only substance abuse classes taught you how to abuse substances the right way (make flavored pot bongs) instead of blanketting them all as bad and blanket labelling all pills as good!

That sounds about right.

how do they define "abuse"? is moderation considered abuse?

[for the record, i don't use "substances"]

I had a similar experience on LSD shooting pool, very drunk before a Paul McCartney concert. I was staggering drunk around the table, but nailed shot after difficult shot and ran the table to everyone's amazement. We all laughed when I rolled the cue across the table afterwards, for it was as crooked as a politician not named Paul.

Well , it lasted about 2 1/2 hours or better than I had to drive down the Highway to the facility where I work , probably , close to 5:00 pm got caught up with everything piled up on my desk about 10:45 pm . I have a certificate :) , you know , that one is going in a frame to show all my buddies , found out that it was a DOT requirement because I have a few truck drivers ..... money maker for the company that does it , I know what they get for a urine sample , $25 is the cut , I will find out what they get for the class , the owner of the drug testing Co and a nurse give it , so , must be fairly profitable or the nurse would not be sitting in for a couple of hours.

Oh, it's a great money spinner for the testing companies. The DOT requires all trucking companies to test 25% of their employees every quarter. Plus the required testing for initial hire. Plus the testing for any sort of incident/accident while on the job. Yep, whole lotta testin' goin' on!

Every time I get called in for a piss test, I tell the medical examiner "Hey! I can't take a urine test right now - I forgot to study!!!" :D

Odd how that never gets a laugh.

Now , I have to see if I can find a few other things to throw up in a frame next to my new certificate ;) , you know , for a nice grouping for my Buddies , probably better shoot for the garage , over my work benches or something ,so Mrs Oyarde does not notice right away ;) . What are your thoughts ??, I was kind of thinking my first Good Conduct Medal ( kept that specifically because I was not qualified for it , nor did I expect it ) , my certificate from the Dept of The Army for completion of Rehabilitation :) , required by a CO I had once , for myself and my entire group of people , for a barracks infraction of an obscure ( probably nobody else knew about but me ) rule of being extremely over the limit of possesion of cases of beer , bottles of liquor and wine ( if I can find it ) , I did not live in the building , and maybe my Medal from the Govenor ..... What do you guys think ??

Yes , I was aware of all of that , and my entire Co gets randoms( we have our own trucking for a four state area ) ,buteven the machine operators, etc are tied up in that money pit , and it is avery large amount of money , but this class was new to me , I thought I had seen it all ; CPR , First Aid , Ten hr OSHA class , previous job , (steel co , Haz Mat training ), testing , certification , last job , just because they needed two people in the facility to have it... trained , certified by Toyota to train , certify , test , issue forlift licenses , .... overall , quite a money racket ...

I had no idea you drove , shit, we should have got together , found a small industrial based , mnfg / warehouse town and cut ourselves in on the bullshit testing money ... :)

Likely very few (at least till the romantic period). Prior to romanticism, most well-known artists of any genres were employed by a church, royalty/government, or a patron. These works typically catered to the audience's taste rather than the creator's muse.

Well if you have to go, then just try not to fall asleep out of boredom. And try not to smirk and laugh too much. And you might want to *not* mention anything discussed on this thread. Probably not a good idea. ;)

When you dream your brain releases a substance called Dimethyltryptamine (DMT). When you die, your brain releases a very heavy dose of DMT.

DMT is found everywhere in nature, but in higher concentrations in certain types of plants. Some believe the substance is the neuro-pathway to the heavens, and that when we dream we are actually accessing a separate and distinct existence.

Ingesting pure DMT through vaporizing (or smoking) creates a very hallucinogenic and spiritual experience that can take you to other dimensions where you may meet higher beings.

I guess the point is that we have hallucinogenic trips every night when we dream. I take hallucinogens a half dozen times or so a year during the day so I can have these experiences while in my awake consciousness. It is very interesting.

It's been many many years since I've done anything heavier than the good herb, but in my younger days I did a fair amount of acid and mushrooms, and mescaline a few times.

Read a book a few years back called "DMT - The Spirit Molecule" and if I ever do a psychedelic again someday, this is the one. Sounds like it's a step or two beyond everything I've experienced before. (And that's saying a lot.)
