The leaders of the Europe of Nations and Freedom group, held a press conference on the imprisonment of Tommy Robinson on 30 May. The MEPs call on the UK Government to release Tommy Robinson immediately.
Janice Atkinson, an independent UK MEP and Marcel De Graaff, Dutch MEP for the Party for Freedom, didn’t mince words when stating that the current state of Britain resembles a police state more than the bastion of free speech we were in times gone by.

De Graaff: Do you really think that this case of Tommy Robinson is about contempt of court? It is about keeping this information away from the general public.

“It’s a pity that the Government, police, judiciary and local authorities didn’t act with such eagerness and speed for the girls who were systematically sexually abused for over 20 years by Muslim grooming gangs, as they did with Tommy Robinson,” Ms. Atkinson says.

She continues: “Since 1997, with Blair’s Human Rights Act, the introduction of hate crime laws, slowly we have sleep walked into a near totalitarian state. It’s a lie that the public just don’t buy any more. From the working classes, to millennials, to those of colour, Sikh, Hindu, Christian or other, or of no faith. We support Tommy and demand his release. We have to for our children’s sake.”
During the press conference, Mr. De Graaff stated most emphatically that, “Hate speech is the new legal instrument to silence unwanted opinion, to cover up crimes, to silence political opposition. The so-called legal warfare of jihad. Contempt of court has yet become another instrument in the toolset to silence the free press and free speech, to cover up horrendous crimes and the complicity of local and national authorities.”

Thousands of Tommy Robinson supporters and free speech advocates around the world took to the streets for a second week of protests against the imprisonment of the UK journalist and political activist.

Demonstrations were held in Britain, Germany, the United States and several other countries. Around 400 people gathered outside Leeds Crown Court on Saturday for a march through the city center, while approximately 1,000 filled the streets of Manchester for a #FreeTommy demonstration, reported to have been spearheaded by the Democratic Football Lad's Alliance.

International protests on behalf of UK political prisoner Tommy Robinson gain momentum as Dutch MP Geert Wilders announces he will join the June 9th demonstration in London.
Wilders, an outspoken critic of the Islamization of Europe, risks a hostile reception from both Islamists and a British government that has denied him entry to the country in the past.
In a manifesto published by Breitbart London, Wilders praised Robinson for his courage in speaking out on behalf of the silent majority of Brits who are watching their homeland descend into an Orwellian, pseudo-Islamic tyranny.
"Tommy Robinson is a working-class man, who can no longer stand how the original population of England is oppressed by Islam," Wilders wrote. "The latter enjoys the protection from the multiculturalist politically-correct Islamophile ruling class. Tommy Robinson wants to break the taboos this class imposes on society, and he was punished for it."
"But Tommy embodies the hope of many, whose voices are not heard. That is why I stand with him. Tommy is a hero. It is a disgrace that he is still in jail. I have been invited to a major protest demonstration in London next week, and I will be coming. Free Tommy now!"
Wilders will join prominent UK politicians, journalists and activists - and likely thousands of Brits at the June 9 event.
"Working on some very big names for next weekend’s #FreeTommy rally," announced political commentator and author, Raheem Kassam. "You are NOT GOING TO WANT TO MISS IT."
The London demonstration will serve as the epicenter of a burgeoning movement in support of Robinson and all his plight symbolizes in the battle for free speech across the West.
Parallel rallies have been taking place in cities around Europe, the US, and Australia, and are expected to continue.
"#FreeTommy last weekend, this weekend and next weekend with Geert Wilders in London 9th June," tweeted MEP Janice Atkinson. "Oh, with a little help from cities around the world."

Tommy Robinson supporters gathering in London to protest Robinson's jailing clashed with police at a Whitehall demonstration amid calls to free the English Defence League founder.

Robinson was arrested on May 25 outside Leeds Crown Court for reporting on a pedophile grooming trial. After a brief court proceeding in which he did not have access to his lawyer, he was handed a 13-month prison sentence for violating the terms of a suspended sentence on a similar offense.
Over 600,000 people have signed a petition urging Theresa May to step in and free Robinson.
A squad of riot police blocking the gate down the mall leading to Buckingham Palace got into a scuffle with protesters, who appeared to throw bottles, traffic cones and metal barriers at the officers.

Five arrests were made, while five officers were reportedly injured in the clashes during the otherwise peaceful protest.

Fears for the safety of Tommy Robinson are mounting after it was revealed that he has been moved to a heavily Muslim-populated prison in the United Kingdom and has already been on the receiving end of death threats.
Robinson was jailed last month for a “breach of the peace” while live streaming a trial involving Muslim rape gang outside Leeds Crown Court.
He was initially held in a low security prison with a low Muslim population.
However, today it was revealed by Robinson’s manager Caolan Robertson that the activist has now been moved to another prison that has a large Muslim prison population.

Sam Brownback, the U.S. Ambassador for International Religious Freedom, complained to the British ambassador in Washington D.C. about the treatment of an English right-wing activist who is in jail for disrupting a trial, according to three sources familiar with the discussion. Brownback raised the case of the activist known as Tommy Robinson in a June meeting with Sir Kim Darroch, Britain’s Ambassador to the United States, according to a British official and two sources close to the organizers of a pro-Robinson demonstration planned for London on Saturday.
