Tom Woods and Lew Rockwell tear into Rand

I've been listening to Tom's podcast a lot lately so was pretty surprised when they just went after Rand. A lot of it seemed really personal.

Anybody know if this is the first time or have they always hated Rand?

It's funny, because when Rand ran for Senate, Tom Woods was constantly talking about him in print and on radio shows. Watch the interview Tom did with Dennis Miller a few years ago.

Woods and Rockwell are not political animals. And like many, they probably had their own expectations for Rand that he did not live up to, and as a result aren't too happy about that. Understandable, no one is perfect. I still like them both on just about everything else other than their views about Rand. Tom Woods' podcast is probably the best podcast show out there.

Agree. +rep

Yep, it is much easier to stand on the sidelines and criticize than it is to actually be involved and make a difference.

Lew Rockwell and Tom Woods aren't involved and don't make a difference?

Ron tried 3 times and spent millions of our dollars and didn't win a damned state. Rand tried something different and whether it works or not is yet to be seen.
If it wasn't for Ron trying to cover and hide out from racist Lew's newsletter articles Ron would have won Iowa.

While I like both of them in certain if not most areas, they do both seem to have the same flaw.

They want to be on the winning team and if their team isn't winning they'll try to criticize it to death. I don't have a clue in defense of what ?

Rockwell's website promotes AIDS denialism, race realism, among many other things. It's educational value is negative.

I like Woods a lot more than Rockwell. For criticizing Rand as much as he does for molding the message you never see him really criticize himself for his past attempts to link up with Duke and Buchanan. Now I would call myself a paleolibertarian who agrees much more with Woods/Rockwell than say the Reason libertarians but still...Is Rand really doing much of a different thing than Lew did back in the 90s?

Hell even Murray Rothbard tried to get his message to fit in various groups. The common denominator is that they all come back home. We're even starting to see that with Rand.

FWIW, Lew trashed Amash the other day for voting for Ryan. I can get mad at heresy but there's a point where the snarky criticism is just ridiculous.

People aren't going to vote for liberty unless they understand it - Rockwell and Woods have done a great job educating people via their websites and Mises.

Have you never attended one of Collins' training programs? You don't need people to understand something to vote for it, you just need to target, identify, and mobilize voters.

It's really quite simple! Just ask Collins, he can give you dates & times for when this course is available. I believe the fee is only around $300
