Tom McMillin candidacy needs some more national media coverage

good post on Daily Paul you may want to share

Justin Amash makes a plea to supporters of liberty

Submitted by David A Dudenhoefer on Fri, 06/06/2014 - 13:05

Tom McMillin is a name you should get familiar with. He is running for congress in Michigan's 8th district. The seat is held by the NSA, NDAA loving and liberty shredding, Mike Rogers.

Rogers as you know has been a thorn in the side of liberty and has felt the heat from us which is why he is stepping down.

The race is an open seat and Rogers has tapped someone equally as damning to our liberties, so we need Tom to win this and send a clear message to the establishment in the same way that Amash will in November!

Tom is currently serving as a state rep in Michigan and on his 2nd term.

In addition to being supported by Justin Amash, Tom has been a consistent champion of privacy and property rights issues. He fought to reign in state and local police powers of unmitigated drone use, he fought the state minimum wage hike, the Detroit bailout, Common Core, medicaid expansion to name just a few issues.

He is currently championing Michigan Campaign for Liberty's efforts though a constitutional amendment to restore a "part time legislature"!

Today is Tom's birthday, and although the use of term, "money bomb" has been overused, I would like to suggest that we show support to a candidate that in Amash's words, "is a true legislator".

Here is the link to donate>>> http://www.tom4michigan.com/

I was just at a fundraiser for Justin Amash that Tom attended, and in Justin's words, "I need more individuals like Tom to add to our liberty caucus in DC, so please support him".

Thank you in advance Daily Paul family.

David.

Cantor's loss buoys Mich. tea party hopefuls

U.S. House Majority Leader Eric Cantor’s stunning primary loss to a tea party candidate in Virginia is giving hope to like-minded Republican candidates in Michigan.

Brat’s feat of unseating a powerful incumbent with about $200,000 to Cantor’s $5 million also inspires 8th District congressional hopeful Tom McMillin, a state representative from Rochester Hills whose opponent has been blessed by the outgoing congressman, Mike Rogers, R-Howell.

“The main thing it showed is money’s not everything,” McMillin said. “I think it makes it clear that if you get your message across … and if your message is solid constitutional conservatism and free markets and personal liberty, limited government, I think those are the things people are looking for.”

McMillin runs on record, principles

McMillin is considered an underdog against former state Senate Majority Leader Mike Bishop in a Republican primary in Michigan’s 8th Congressional District, where Rogersis not seeking re-election.

Bishop is backed by two heavy hitters in the GOP establishment: Oakland County Executive L. Brooks Patterson, and Rogers. The district includes Ingham, Livingston and northern Oakland counties.

Bishop has even declared that he is a tea party conservative.

McMillin said he’s not overtly running on the tea party mantle, preferring to highlight his conservative efforts in the Legislature.

“I think generally the voters are looking at principles,” McMillin said. “I’m just running on my record and principles.”

GOP strategist Mitchell says McMillin faces “an uphill struggle.”

“Mike Bishop was a very conservative guy when he was Senate majority leader,” he said, and Rogers’ endorsement will carry weight on his behalf — especially since he chairs the U.S. House Intelligence Committee.

Jack Hunter said on his FB page today that Rare would do an article on him.

Rare has rapidly become the best pro-liberty news site out there.

Cool, thanks for the heads up. I hope he can get one out before the moneybomb on Friday.

Rare has rapidly become the best pro-liberty news site out there.

Rare is a great website, they put out tons of great articles from a pro-liberty perspective that are very useful with good information, covering stories from angles that you won't really find elsewhere.

Better yet, have him on his show.

I really don't know why he would not, I would think he would love a guy like Tom McMillin, they have so much in common.

It would be great if he could get on Steve Deace's show too, I think Deace would really like him.

This is very winnable. It's all about turnout (we want low turnout for old FOX "News" watchers).

This one doesn't seem to have been nearly as publicized as the Amash primary so I think we may get just what the doctor ordered.

How about a Twitter and Facebook campaign today?
