Trump has taken a big gamble with his strategy. Most campaigns focus on bringing their committed supporters and leaners to the caucuses, the Trump campaign is just bringing registered GOP and people who will register on site. To end up with anything close to what the polls have been showing, there needs to be enough support within the group he's bringing in to offset the ones he brings who will end up voting for someone else.
