To all Ron Paul supporters. TODAY IS THE BIG DAY! The Texas Primary begins

I convinced 5 mittens voters to vote Ron Paul in the primary, said that mittens was already inevitable anyway, so at least send a message to the GOP that they are to far from their roots..........please dont let me down Texas...Ron Paul 2012

question, can you go to any voting place in your county, in a different zip code, or does it have to be somewhere in your zip? my dad just went and voted and said my name was on the list, but I'm currently in a completely different area of my county...

If you had voted early you could have voted anywhere, but now you have to go back and vote at your old polling place, since you didn't change registration by Aprim 30 (unless you did).

A.If you moved “within the same county” where you are currently registered, you must file the new address information in writing with your voter registrar OR you may submit the “in county" change online. The last day to make a change of address that will be effective for the May primary election is April 30, 2012. If you miss this deadline, you may return to your old precinct to vote. You will be required to complete a "statement of residence" confirming your new address in your new precinct. A: If you moved to a “new county,” you must re-register in your new county of residence by April 30, 2012, to be eligible to vote in the May 29, 2012 Primary Election.

yeah, VA was the same way but there was no GOTV at all so Paul ended up barely losing VA. hopefully the campaign puts more emphasis on GOTV because it would really be something to see Paul pull a win....

I can't see Ron outright winning, after all the media saying he dropped out. However, he can get proportional delegates even if he doesn't win, which will add up in Tampa with those he is getting through the delegate strategy. Also, we want him to do well because it is his home state.

My bet is on 14% in Texas. The media may be going around saying Ron dropped out, but saying you won't fight in certain states equals conceding those states. Since they are the remaining states, and Ron's campaign activity seems to be on par with Santorum and Gingrich's campaigns, it would appear as though he has at least 'suspended' his campaign. Though it is disingenuous to say that he 'dropped out', it's certainly not that far off.

That being said, I do hope he nets the 20% for proportional delegates. I'm just not going to set myself up for another disappointment. Give 'em hell, Texas.

^If Paul gets less than 20% of the vote does Romney collect all the delegates, or is there a Texan Caucus latter?

I voted on the first day of early voting.
So did a few other members of my family.

We won't win, won't even come close. But 20%? I dunno. I think this could be one of those states where Santorum gets more votes than Paul, I hate to say it.

Texas isn't all it's cracked up to be. I mean, Rick Perry is their governor. And that guy that preceded him, yeah... I lived there for 10 years, so I definitely know what I'm talking about. I'm going to go as low as 10%, and I agree Santorum will have a strong showing. I'm so over America's conservatives.

Don't mind me, though. I come from the land of Rick Scott.

How can anyone that habituates RPFs on any type of regular basis NOT know where they vote on ELECTION DAY? Maybe it's not fraud... I'm just sayin'.

...The OP made it sound like Ron Paul could still get delegates if he doesn't get over 20% of the vote. I am unsure about how delegates are awarded when it comes to this year's Texas primary (I'm 90% positive that a candidate had to win over 20% of the vote in 2008 to get any delegates), so I'm curious if that is possible or not.

you're absolutely right...luckily, i switched both my parents over, and they just voted...and 2 other friends that switched over, voted as well...i could of sworn I read you could just go anywhere in your county with your voter reg card and do it...but like someone said, it was for early voting...so I messed up  ...but yea, for many of those that have never voted before, it prob makes for alot of uniformed folks...pretty embarrassed right now:(...

Just wondering how the RP Grassroots, Meet-up's and overall Supporters thru out Texas feel tonight!!!

Frankly, after the Campaign's press release two weeks ago, Texas seemed to drop off the radar as far as reported Grassroots activity. Not sure that is true, in fact I bet there was a lot of hard work, but information certainly was sparse.

How do you think Ron will do in his home State? I am sure he will improve on his 2008 showing of 5.1% of the Vote!!!

before voting, my mom called and asked, why should she vote for RP, since he's out of the race!.. I wonder how many others are thinking the same...

I would be thrilled with breaking the 20% threshold, disappointed with single digits. My honest expectation is around the 15% mark.

The campaign specifically said he had NOT suspended his campaign. More, he had ALREADY campaigned in Texas and California and run an ad in Texas, so they were not the 'further primary states' he wasn't spending money in.

However, I agree the media ran stories the other way.
