To all freedom lovers, the Lakota succeeded from the USA

I was very enthusiastic about the Free State Project and Alaskan Independence Party for a while, but I have a bad feeling about this Lakota thing. It smells like Hugo Chavez...

It has nothing to do with what you all are thinking it has to do with. (Also, it does not "smell of Chavez". Can you say "Russell Means"? As in, libertarian Russell Means.)

Keep your money in your pockets and look for another cause to join. There ain't no revolution to see here people - keep moving along...

You guys sound pathetic. You should like this country enough to want to change it, not "LETS MOVE" and all this bull.

I am very much against this pathetic group "succeeding" from the United States. We should blow them up or something.

Besides, I can't imagine Lakota opening their arms to a mass of settlers fleeing persecution for second time.

1.) Blow them up? McCain, much?
2.) Technically, states have a right to secede from the union...and it follows that communities have a right to secede from states. If you own the land and you want to withdraw from your social contract with any particular government, it's your right - no matter what that government says.
3.) Pathetic group? They're the Lakotah nation, dummy! The United States invaded their lands, so even a few hundred years later, it doesn't take a genius to understand why they might not be so proud of their US citizenship.

I do agree that the whole "let's move!" thing is a little weak, especially considering posters are talking about moving to the Lakotah Republic, of all places...saying "let's move" in this instance just screams out, "Let me out! Take me somewhere, ANYWHERE! Just not here!" However, if they were talking about moving to a state that decided to secede and take on (and follow) the United States Constitution though, that'd be another matter entirely. :p After all, the only thing the United States legitimately stands for, other than baseball, sports cars, hot dogs, and barbecues, is the Constitution and the ideals contained therein. Loyalty to the United States means loyalty to the ideals under which it was formed, not loyalty to any particular government or artificial boundary lines.

P.S. I just wanted to quote Banana's post for dark humor:
Besides, I can't imagine Lakota opening their arms to a mass of settlers fleeing persecution for second time.
No kidding.
