Time for a new campaign manager?

instead of a campaign manager lets do our own jobs first. this campaign isnt about ron paul it is about you. you are voting for this campaign for your future so do your job to convince other people about it. get out there and vote, canvass, write, and educate yourselves about the process. what mattered today was turnout and delegates. apparently the turnout wasnt as expected. even the media thought we would have a better turnout than this. as for the delegate situation im not sure how many of the voters for ron paul even stayed back for that. people start taking care of your own future better than this.

Seriously... we have the money to hire the best in the business. This grass-roots thing gets you only so far; at some point you have to bark with the big dogs. Huckabee got Ed Rollins. Huckabee won.

But the good news is this: we already have the personnel on the ground to do whatever it takes. We already have the money. We need better high-level administration, not wet-behind the ears college grads, though God bless 'em.

Ummm no. We do our job, they do theirs.. What business have you in saying they hire new campaign staff. You have no idea what the official campaign is doing or how they are doing it. Just concentrate on what we are doing. Everyone is doing a great job in my opinion. Read the rest of the threads. IA is just one state, one small battle.

"Trust me. People don't know about him. When they do, they like him. "

That is it. People don't know "Ron Paul". I cold call for RP, and most I talk to have never heard of Ron Paul. Do something about it! Damn it!

EXACTLY - I have gone out canvassing, and at least 60% of the people I run into have never heard of him. BOOTS ON THE STREET PEOPLE!

There is only so much we can do on the Internet AND WE HAVE DONE IT!

Take these results from Iowa and use them to GET ENERGIZED.

It's time to EXPLODE onto the STREETS and tell EVERYONE who Ron Paul is!

My experience at canvassing has been...spectacularly successful. 60+% of the people had no idea who Ron Paul was. Fully HALF of those people if not more came away excited to learn more about him, and probably a THIRD of those who already knew about him had their perceptions changed for the positive.

The internet is good, stickers and signs are good, but NONE of that has even one QUARTER the effect as getting on the street and TALKING to people! I Promise you this is true, I have seen it myself!

Sorry, I agree with the OP...our maniacal support will only take us so far.

We need a big time player to run this campaign...unfortunately, we have got to play politics if we want to have any chance to win.

The average American is a dumbass. We need a true, proven campaign manager to head this quest.

So who do you suggest? Who has the necessary experience and would be willing to take the job and would be willing and able to work effectively with the grassroots (most want to tightly control every aspect of the campaign?

I don't know who that savior could be. Do you?

I hear Karl Rove is available, lol

You have no idea what the official campaign is doing or how they are doing it.

I think that's the primary weakness of the campaign -- they don't seem to understand the importance of maintaining good communications with the grassroots.

The campaign struck gold by their decision to make their fundraising completely transparent. They need to move in that direction with other aspects of the campaign.

I was under the impression that part of the reason the Dean campaign fell apart was because they hired people who weren't "true believers".

I don't really know exactly what it means but I have some ideas and if we bring in people who don't truly believe the message it might create more problems than it would potentially solve.

I hope he has the money to hire someone. They need someone badly. The campaign is run like a child's first business. It is a joke. They don't know how to do anything from hiring someone who knows how to get materials to the masses, to polite phone answerers who know the difference between a reporter and a supporter, to a PR person who would know how to handle the racist scandal nonsense, to, well, heck, they don't have one competent person working there. Even their fund raiser can't raise a dime on his own.

I completely agree on the PR person. those baseless attacks on Paul's character really hurt us.If they had just possessed the proper response ahead of time they could have turned it around and we probably could have obtained 4th. Unfortunately, the campaign stayed silent on the issue and the public took their silence as an admittance of guilt.

That's just it-we have no idea what the official campaign is doing or how they are doing it. Seems to me that when you need a mass campaign to make your name and message known to the general public, that having no idea what the campaign is doing is the same as saying the campaign is not getting it done.

HQ is the problem.

People are already on the streets.
To say that this is not true is bullshit.
We have more foot soldier then every other candidate.

Ron needs to change his message: less olive branches more arrows.
People are scared. He needs to tell them that he we do what it takes to keep them safe. He can do this and still shrink the empire.

Campaign management sucks. Keep the IT person and add two more. The groups and meetups and forums are out of control. The internet is not being fully utilized.

Changed the top management, fire them now! Spend the money!
Money willl flow into the campaign based on performance.

We should have never lost to John McCain. He spent nothing and showed up in Iowa three times!

The grass roots did the best they could do without direction. It is a management problem!

This is not your grandfather campaign! Get with it or loss it! We need people who can think outside the box. We need real strategist.

I said before and I'll say it again: this is not an experiment in political science.

+1

I would love to see Lew Rockwell directly involved with the campaign in some capacity. I know he used to be on RP's congressional staff, and that he's still a supporter...

The question is, what is Paul going to do with that 20+ Million soon.
There not stupid ok, and Ron Paul sure as hell isn't. He admits hes got to spend it, thats why we gave it to him he said.
So sit back and watch his media blitz come in. It will not go waisted, trust me. They have a plan, just believe in Paul for a minute.
