Time for a change: 10 Facts about Global Warming

Just out of curiosity, is there anyone on these forums who doesn't believe in global warming but does believe peak oil, or vice versa? I haven't seen anyone like that on these forums, everybody is at one extreme or the other.

I for one believe in global warming. I also see nothing wrong with trying to clean the environment because of it. What's the worst that can happen, cleaner air? Global warming or not there should always be a push to have environmentally safe industry and whatnot.

Man made global warming is a complete load of crap made up to push through a global carbon tax. If you say anything against it you are shunned. I have actually had people tell me that not believing in man made global warming is the same as being a holocaust denier. The data actually very clearly shows CO2/man is insignificant in global temperature and the sun is the main driver (duh!). We are going into a cooling phase right now but that wont stop the global warming religion. They will blame record cold weather on global warming. Fighting any global warming regulation should be one of our highest priorities. It has nothing to do with the environment. Actually all it does is distract from real environmental problems.

I don't believe in global warming, nor do I believe in peak oil. Peak oil can only be true if oil was from old dinos. I believe it's a naturally occurring substance that will never run out. That said, I think we should stop using it, because it is a pollutant.

I tend to agree with you for the most part here, however I'm not convinced it'll never run out. It's like saying, we'll never run out of trees because more will grow to replace them - that's only true so long as your consumption doesn't outpace the production. Just for the sake of argument, lets say oil does replenish itself naturally - is it in a large enough quantities/speed/volume to offset our use?

Btw, joined the group RonPaulVolunteer ;)

The inconvenient truth about Global Warming is that it is a convenient excuse for some to grab for more political power.

If you are sincere about cleaning up the environment and exploring alternative fuels and energy, look for creative solutions from the market and support private property rights. Al Gore's carbon tax is just another loophole for oil interests to continue selling oil.

Heck they have as many theories about oil as they do global warming.

I think the whole topic is quite simple. Be stewards of the enviroment. And be sensible enough to move to known renewable energies.

The climate is getting cooler. Your believe, fails. Yeah, there is nothing wrong with FULL PRIVATE PROPERTY RIGHTS.

That will do more for cleaning up the environment, than taxing pollution etc.

And peak oil, is peak bullshit.

I'm more concerned with pollution. Mercury from burning, especially coal, is contaminating the fish. We can live with less land as the Earth cycles and the moon moves farther away, but fish are important to the food supply.

Well the CO2 hysteria is meant to distract you from real environmental problems. Plus it gives the added benefit of making humans the enemy, demonizing one of the 4 basic requirements of life, leads to UN world government and taxes you for no reason while taking away all of your rights. Democrats uses man made global warming just like Republicans uses terrorism to scare people into giving away all of their rights no matter what the facts say or how ridiculous their new laws are.

And we really don't know where oil comes from. It is only a theory that it comes from fossils and it has never been proven but everyone takes it a s a fact.

I went to a local college last night, URI, and there was a presentation about debunking the debunking of global warming claims. What a load crap. This was 1 of 8 presentation over several weeks. I believe they are preparing the public with a carbon tax. Its disgusting. I'll upload the video to youtube once they upload it to their website. Several Ron Paul supporters asked questions if that matters :P

You have proof for the climate getting cooler? Of course there's two sides to every argument, but when 90% of the scientific community comes out saying that global warming is real I think you have to listen. I agree with the private property rights approach. Notice I never said anything about government stepping in ;) As for peak oil, we're not at peak production but there certainly is a limited amount of oil in the world. It's a non-renewable resource so we're going to run out eventually, it's just a matter of when.

If you followed the link, you'd see there's been no warming since 1998. And yes, there's two side to that fact, the side of truth and side of deception. Which side are you on?
