Nullification: How to Resist Federal Tyranny in the 21st Century
- Thomas E. Woods Jr

State vs. Federal: The Nullification Movement
Because the Supreme Court has for many years interpreted the Constitution in a manner to further empower the federal government, states are moving to take power back from the feds through a growing and vibrant nullification movement. By Patrick Krey

Nullification in a Nutshell
The modern-day nullification movement has as its genesis the principle of federalism and the writings of James Madison and Thomas Jefferson, in particularly the famous Kentucky and Virginia Resolutions of 1798, supporting the right of states to nullify unconstitutional federal usurpations. I love APs title choice.

The U.S. Constitution is some obscure 18th century doctrine?

What's next? Shutting down the AP because of some obscure 18th century lawful doctrine we call the First Amendment?

Democrats: GOP Nullification Defies Common Sense

Local News 8
January 27, 2011

House Democrats accused Republicans of voting for a bill with roots in the 1700s "in defiance of common sense."

Minority Leader John Rusche labeled Wednesday's GOP vote to introduce "nullification" - to fight President Barack Obama's health care overhaul - as "meaningless grandstanding" and an "appalling" waste of time.

Rusche said the vote could also be dangerous, since it conflicts with lawmakers' sworn oaths of office.

Though GOP members of the House State Affairs Committee did vote as a bloc, some indicated they did so to hear more about it - not because they supported it.

Major bump for Tom Woods. Why isn't this brilliant and charismatic man running for President yet?

That "obscure 18th century doctrine" enables AP to make such idiotic statements without ending up on the guillotine. That they seem to miss a point so abundantly lacking in subtlety says nothing good about either their collective intelligence, integrity, or both.

Sheesh.
