This Sickens Me - Anti-War.com Website (Justin Raimondo) Loves Obama

They sure do look alike, especially when you see a photo of each of them with a cigarette in his mouth.

I think we can blame all of the anti-smoking legislation for this. As an ex-smoker of 7 days, I can tell you that with this new legislation and lack of places left to smoke, sometimes you have to smoke with some undesirable people.

I can see it now, Justin is at a gay bar and Obama is there to meet his friend, Mr. Sinclair<sp>. They both step out to smoke and then... their eyes meet. It's love at first sight.

Given that Hillary and McCain supported and voted for the war, and Obama, who opposed the war, is the only candidate realistically still in the race, why would you be so shocked that the guy who runs ANTIWAR.com likes Obama?

He says he opposed the war. How do we really know? He wasn't even a Senator then.

Raimondo is just being practical and is looking to see which candidate left in the mainstream stage will carry at least anti-war rhetoric this election year. He originally promoted Hagel as being the candidate to bring that debate, until Hagel backed out of running. it would be nice if Paul ran independent, or the LP or CP candidates broke through the media's chokehold on campaign coverage, but that's unlikely, so Raimondo is working with what's left.

Obama

If America faces a financial crisis during the next presidential term that demands cut backs in Federal spending, of the three potentials McCain, Clinton, or Obama, Obama is the most likely to cut back on foreign entanglements.

Of the three he probably has the fewest political debts and ties to the Foreign Policy establishment and Military Industrial complex. Killing the spending of money on the defense of Japan, Germany, and South Korea could be the low hanging fruit for a President Obama.

Thats not an argument for RP supporters to go for Obama. For them I say pick your favorite third party candidate. Hopefully we can get some consensus on who that will be.

But in conversations with those who will vote for one of these socialists Obama is probably the lesser of the three evils.

Raimondo's idea that Obama could do a third party run if denied the Democrat nomination is some productive mischief. It would be great to fragment the Democratic party. Its a long shot but intriguing.

WHAT? Obama proposed the highest spending levels of all the candidates, where do you get your information from? He's more of a socialist than Hillary....

Obama did not oppose the war. He voted for war funding.

Also, he will not promise to remove all troops and end the occupation.

He's a liar.

I never said Obama was less of a socialist than Hillary, I said he'd be more likely to cut back on foreign entanglements than Hillary if forced to choose some piece of the federal pie, because he probably has fewer poltical debts to the mililtary industrial interests.

I didn't see debating who is the most socialistic as the point of this thread.

If you look at a short list of RPs key messages:
- Shutdown the IRS
- Shutdown the Federal Reserve
- Reverse 100 years of bad foreign policy

I happen to believe the message with the best potential for traction with the voting public is the foreign policy reversal. And of the three socialists running for the Presidency, Obama is the one most likely to venture into that turf.

Why care about Obama? He will be Ron Pauled in no time at the April democratic convention. Choose between Hillary and McCain.

And about war (pure speculation),
Obama might attack pakistan, iraq
Hillary might attack iraq, iran, kosovo again?
McCain WILL attack iraq

So it is an easy pick. Since we going to have war, it is better to localised it. McCain promise to localised it at iraq, where the rest wants to spread it. So, it is a no brainer. Choose McWarrrrrrr!!! :p

I'm confused by the endorsement too, but you guys are a bunch of whinos. WHAA WHAA HE BETRAYED US HES NOT A REAL LIBERTARIAN WHAA WHAA HES A NAZI HES IN THE CONSPIRACY HES ONE OF THEM WHAA!

Calm the hell down already.

and McWar is roadkill

For the presidency the best choice will be a third party.

Obama Doesnt stand for serbia or america for that matter of fact.

I lost my trust in Justin Raimondo

and yet he seemed such a more ron paul fan then a obama one.

If Raimondo can move the Obama base one small step closer to a non-intervenionist foreign policy it is good for the RPM.
