This is why I tend to be against a 100% free market.

Yeah, if they can make a "ghetto latte" with materials that are available for free, then they can either a. lower the price of their lattes so that people don't do that, or b. move the milk and half and half behind the counter and give it for free to normal customers and charge people who try to make the ghetto lattes. or c. just simply disparage the people who do it as uncool.

The is a problem with the economics of free stuff, people will do weird things to take advantage of the free stuff. If you charge for the half and half, you fix that problem, but customers won't like it.

I would just say "suck it up". The bad publicity is probably costing them sales.

Of course, the government shouldn't even come into play here at all. The very idea of this being an argument for government regulation is beyond ridiculous. Half and half indeed--half crazy, half stupid.
 
If only there were a funny soundbite to go along with this story, that way I could make a techno remix version of it on youtube.
