I actually watched the entire thing before I can in here to the computer to see what ya'll were saying about so I wouldn't be 'influenced'. Thing is, I tired to watch this thing with, at least, some lack of favoritism toward any one candidate and here's what I came away with:
1. Rudy and Romney took one another down on the immigration issue;
2. Romney and Thompson both just lost the real Southern vote with their clueless comments about the 'stars and bars' (read also: Confederate Battle flag);
3. Rudy looked like a TOTAL idiot trying to answer the Bible question;
4. McCain seemed like a moron with the talk about the U.S. 'allowing' the Hitler period;
5. Dr. Paul looks very confrontational when he was talking about Iraq and Vietnam - he came off as a (I hate to say this but,) a bit looney because I don't think he had time to actually explain what he was talking about.
6. The Fred commercial was GREAT for exposing both pro-abortion Romney and tax-hike Mike - saving the other candidates from having to do it;
7. The Fred comment after the cartoon of Cheney was priceless when he said "I thought that was about me!" - showed a nice sense of humor
8. Huckster's attempt at humor came off as flippant and Tancredo pointed it out
9. I actually started getting ill listening to Rudy say "when I was mayor I...".....geez fella - give it rest already!
10. " " " " " " Romeny " """"governor..."" -- see comment above
11. The gun question didn't make any browie points for the ones who either answered the question (Hunter, Romney and I think Huck) nor the one who dodged it (Thompson).
Thing is, if I were an undecided voter, the none of them looked GREAT although Dr. Paul and Hunter probably wound up lookin the best overall.
I liked the fact that they played Dr. Paul's commercial last and that he basically got in the last serious words before the baseball idiocy started. His mentioning the 5,000 plus crowd in Philly got some folks in the audience wondering (you could see the big 'WTF' look on their faces when he mentioned that and the SPONTANEOUS 4.2 million 24-hour fundraising. I think he made some potentiallly serious points with those announcements judging from the looks on the faces they showed in the crowd.
Hopefully, some of the 'front-runners' lost some support and, at least, some of those supporters will now be looking at Ron Paul.
With that being said I am seriously P.O.'d at the quality of questions that they allow Dr. Paul to deal with!!! He gets the 'CFR' and 'conspiracy' questions, which he handled exceedingly well but, on the issues where he is so GREAT, they ignore him and he's too politie to try and insist that he get a word in sideways.
It is now up to US to continue what we have been doing for months only now WE MUST kick it into high gear because we are coming down to the wire!!
