Things YOU can do to HELP MAINE TODAY - workers needed - LET IT NOT BE SAID WE DID NOTHING

He's right though - the ad you showed has too many capitals. Facebook flags that as 'spam' - did it eventually get approved?

p.s. these ads = important! (since the difference between 1st and 2nd could be less than a few hundred votes).

he didn't make it clear facebook had a problem with it. I'll be careful of that in the future. I know I just ignore the ads myself if they don't have pictures and something to catch your eye.

I'm creating an ad targeting the zip codes of the caucus locations on Saturday.

Mine looks something like this. People dont use
"who like #Campaign for Liberty, #Libertarian Party (United States), #Rand Paul or #Ron Paul."

People who know about Liberty and Libertatian Party are going to vote for Ron allready.

Use Santorum, Mitt, Newt, GOP, Election
etc.

That ad might bring out more non-Paul supporters than Paul supporters. I'd only target Paul supporters...

I dont agree. Ron Paul supporters are allready informed via facebook groups and similar things.

For my ads, I only targeted RP supporters. We DO NOT want to remind Romney or Santorum supporters about the caucus. The point is not to get new people onboard (it's far too late for that in Maine) but to get our existing supporters out to caucus.

Yup, the ad I had up pointing to the flyers was targeting older republicans, but I didn't specifically target those who liked another candidate. Definitely not targeting Ron Paul people with that.

The ad I have running now is targeting just Ron Paul supporters in Maine to get them to print out flyers and get to the caucuses early. And delegates too.

According to your stats - you have hit everyone 100 times. about 10 % have clicked through.
Yes, and I'm still getting new clicks even today which tells me the demographic isn't fully saturated yet. We need to absolutely pound these people with ads for the next few hours.
I just posted a new ad to Maine Ron Paul people linking to http://ronpauldelegates.wordpress.com/2012/02/08/flyer-for-caucusassembliesevents/ reminding people to print flyers for nearby caucuses and reminding about delegates. I'll let you know how long it takes me to get it approved.
^^^^Great idea. I like this a lot.

Can anyone at all explain why they think it's a good idea to remind our opponents supporters abou the caucus? Dammit stop!
The 5% who are converted by your awesome ad will be overwhelmed by the other 95% who are still supporting there guy and have now been reminded to go vote. Stop!

but that reagan one looks like it is aimed at Romney who is touted as the electable one. I think it has to be about Ron Paul, not reagan.

many of those who back santorum and those guys DISLIKE Ron and will go to vote against him. I really don't suggest using GOTV on OPPOSING CANDIDATES, we want our guys out, not theirs.

and people who just toyed with the idea of caucusing for Ron but don't have the caucus data, and are really civil libertarians opposed to NDAA don't follow Ron, per se. One of our problems is we are treating soft support as if it acted like solid support, I think.

Mine is very general in targeting, but it is clearly a Ron Paul ad. I figure it acts as an ad even if no one clicks it.... and so far no one has....:(

I really agree with this. If you use other candidates or fox news type buzz words you are doing GOTV on OTHER people's candidats. I didn't use C4L or Ron as a limiter myself, but that is because I wanted independents who are just starting to know that Ron is for civil liberties to go, not just hard core supporters. But I would never aim it toward another candidate likes or O'Reilly or something like that. I wish I could put a 'not' those guys, frankly.

since I'm not getting any clicks I could probably do another ad, I was thinking of one aimed towards those new caucuses they are setting up without notice. It would be a public service to try to tell people when and where their caucuses were.

How big is your target audience? Mine about printing flyers..

This ad targets 4,840 users:
who live in the United States
who live in Maine
age 16 and older
who like #Campaign for Liberty, #Libertarian Party (United States), #Rand Paul, #Ron Paul, #Ron Paul presidential campaign, 2008, #Ron Paul presidential campaign, 2012, #Young Americans for Liberty, ron paul, ron paul 2008, ron paul 2012, ron paul 4 president, ron paul com, ron paul for president or ron paul revolution

Has gotten almost 1500 user views with ~7.5 impressions each. 4 clicks so far.

Maybe it's the bid price you're setting for cost per click?

Use Santorum, Mitt, Newt, GOP, Election etc.

Explain why we want Gingrich, Romney & Santorum supporters at these caucuses? The establishment is obviously already planning to send their men there - why help them??

Explain why we want Gingrich, Romney & Santorum supporters at these caucuses?
I talked to plenty of Romney/Gingrich/Santorum supporters at the Nevada caucuses. The statistics show that each of those candidates lost around 12% for the caucus locations that we were at. There's soft support that can lead to Ron Paul gaining 70% more votes than what he would have gotten.

That soft support is unlikely to include hardly any of the people who have clicked "like" on those candidates Facebook pages. If you convinced some newt-leaning neocons to come to the Paul side in face to face conversation that is fantastic but it does not make it a good idea to advertise caucus locations to these people. Please please please stop.

I agree. GOTV aimed at newt likers will get NEWT vote out.

Someone run this ad targeted to people who have liked Ron Paul in Maine:

"Warning: Ron Paul supporters in Maine, GOP changes caucus locations last minute. Click to find caucus."

http://www.ronpaul2012.com/caucus/maine-caucus/

Penobscot - Plymouth - 2/11/2012 - 9:00 - Emmanuel Bible Babptist Church across from 1910 Moosehead Trail - Plymouth - 4969

Somerset - Norrwidgewock - 2/11/2012 - 10:00 - Norrwidgewick Town Office - 16 Perkins Street - Norridgewock - 4957

"Warning: Ron Paul supporters in Maine, GOP changes caucus locations last minute. Click to find caucus.
Do you know if people who were supposed to attend a caucus location are now supposed to attend a different location because of this? Or were some regions not covered beforehand?

I haven't run any ads targeting people who liked the other candidates. Maybe you're thinking of someone else?

Good but the post you responded to that I quoted was about targeting Gingrich Romney and santorum supporters. We want to a avoid and discourage that. That's why I posted that.

Anyone have stats for targeting Ron Paul people in Maine? I'm getting 0.031% CTR which seems pretty low. Maybe I should change the image I'm using.

Do people know if it's better to just run multiple ads in a given campaign because every time you edit, it needs to get re-approved?
