Things YOU can do to HELP MAINE TODAY - workers needed - LET IT NOT BE SAID WE DID NOTHING

From my experience in Iowa and Nevada, most people know when to caucus but need an extra push to get them out.

Dude you just made my point for me. These ads are just another reminder to our competition to get out and caucus. Turnout is incredibly low in Maine, so reminding the competition to go is a really bad thing.

If they've clicked "like" on #Mitt Romney or #Bill OReilly or others then they've probably already missed the steps in logic and are extremely unlikely to suddenly be swayed by a facebook ad. I really, really think targeting these people is a big mistake and hurting our chances.

I'm creating an ad targeting the zip codes of the caucus locations on Saturday.

title: Do you want to beat Obama
body: One candidate gets Independent and youth votes needed to win the Presidency. Pick the one... who will Win Against Obama.

That ad might bring out more non-Paul supporters than Paul supporters. I'd only target Paul supporters...

If you convince friends or relatives to caucus, CARPOOL!!! I heard too many stories about people in Minnesota that convinced people to caucus but found out later that they didn't go.

Good point, those people are highly likely to already be committed.

GOTV.

Our #1 issue isn't that we don't have enough supporters ID'd. In Nevada if everyone would have shown up we would have won in a landslide. These are reminders of how important it is to get off our asses and vote.

My question is does anyone know how we do with young males in Maine? I know we beat Romney in basically every state except South Carolina in that demographic. If that's true we could run some targeting all males aged 17-35 in the towns yet to caucus. Myself and a few others did that in Minnesota and I think it really made a difference.

And yes, please target the towns that have yet to vote if possible. I know facebook sometimes limits the ads if the audience isn't big enough, so you may have to include a couple of surrounding towns if that happens.

This is the pic that has the best clickthrough rate in the Facebook ads I've run:

Males 17-35 yes, target them. There have been NO POLLS. But if we aren't winning with males 17-35 over Romney, we just pretty much lose.

What did I do wrong? Can anyone help me here?

I made the ad, and thought it was set but I got back into my office a few hours later and my email had a 'manage your ads' welcome thing from facebook. all well and good, but when I went to view my ad it said 'no views no impressions' and under status it says 'pending review' with a little clock on it. Is this normal? Do I have to do something?

I made it really quickly and might change it slightly if it is in some limbo. Does this happen with all new accounts?

FYI I made another ad targeting Androscoggin County (Lewiston) as their county-wide caucus is Saturday. I chose that one because 8% of the state's population lives there.

I might make some more tonight using my wife's FB coupons. Will keep this thread posted.

Agree with Lewiston.

I will be telling people about the caucus in my ads, and I'll be targeting young males.

We have a GOTV system. The people who we have identified will be getting calls.

Young men aren't part of our GOTV system, the ones who have never voted. They aren't getting calls. Yet young men like us.

does anyone know what went wrong? Or does it just take a while to process? I'm wondering if they are getting a flood of RP ads, or something, and have a problem with it.

I think the first time you create an ad takes awhile for it to be approved. I feel like that's what happened to me too but I'm not 100% sure because it was awhile ago.

I am of a paranoid sort so I am thinking "this delay" is on purpose! lol.

BUT I modified three ads today all targeting Maine, and I am still waiting on approval. Usually, it has taken no more than like 15 minutes to get approval. Today, it has been upwards of 5 hours for them to approve, and it still isn't. Perhaps ALOT of people are pushing with this. Who knows.

DO THIS NOW IF YOU PLAN TO DO IT - My ad is still under 'approval' and can take up to 12 hours to 'approve' apparently. If you put one in tonight it would be approved (if nothing is wrong with it) by morning. Otherwise you'd miss Friday unless they start to approve things earlier, tomorrow.

Yes, we need to get these ads in tonight if possible. The approval process is just a touch shady IMO. I think there's a few Obama supporters working in that department at Facebook. I've had certain ads disapproved for no real good reason other than they slammed Obama and I eventually emailed them and they emailed back and apologized that it was a mistake and approved the ad.

The delays don't surprise me, although 12 hours would be more than I've ever had to wait I think.

I just did 7 similar GOTV ads for Androscoggin, Portland, South Portland, Brunswick, Oxford, York 1, York 2

this is my portland one

Maine Caucus Sat Feb 11

Portland Caucus / Sat Feb 11 930AM / Same Day Registration / R, I, Unregistered / Riverton School, Portland / Vote Ron Paul

Great ads! Let's get them in tonight! Portland has some now, and Lewiston has one, so people might want to look at the next most populated town or do another in Lewiston, possibly...

Maybe hit up some of the populated areas in York county? (York, Kennebunkport, Old Orchard Beach, etc)
