They are about to turn on the super-particle collider, CERN - quest for the god atom?

Sometimes, being proved wrong is a good thing. I think this may be one of those times. At least, I know that I am glad my concerns were apparently unfounded :D

Edit: Unless it is only in testing phase right now and the actual collisions haven't started yet?

...been there, done that!

BTW, It's my only reason for questioning the death penalty...

How do we know we are not releasing some kind of evil so it can come back again in another generation?

It shouldn't take more than $5,000 per year to keep 'em "safely" locked up in some one-way Hell hole.

i just got finished reading "angels and demons" by dan brown... its a prequel to davinci code, but it appears to me the bulk of the book is made up of facts, and only the story line is fiction... it talks about CERN, the particle collider, and the fact that it was responsible for the creation of the internet (which it also says on the wiki page for CERN)

anyone else read this book?

I thought Al Gore invented the internet?
Maybe CERN lab created Al Gore?
