The laws of physics state that there are two conservation laws.

Conservation of energy, and conservation of mass. Which in all reality are the same thing. Set fire to mass, and you get a sustainable energy until all of the mass is converted to heat.

If there is a way to capture and store heat, like a battery captures and stores an electrical charge, then we can have a self sustaining energy source.

The two conservation laws above, state that you cant create nor destroy energy or mass.
