This is really good news. It may be Wal Mart, but I'll take it where I can get it. For now, every dairy product I get will either be Wal-Mart brand or Kroger brand.

Imagine the frelling NERVE of Monsanto to SUE milk producers just for labeling their products as hormone free.

The one time that we really and actually need a gov't program like the FDA, and they fail us utterly. I guess that shows how useless gov't programs are -- they stick their thumbs in where they don't belong, and the one frelling time we actually needed them they fail utterly.

Thanks for reminding me about this. I have a newsletter here that was passed on to me Health Revelations from America's Country Doctor (Alan Inglis, M.D.). Volume 2 Issue 11 Feb 2008.

There is an article here about GM foods and here's the advice he gives (I'll paraphrase):
1) Buy organic. They are GMO-free by definition.

2) Organic fruit has 5 PLU numbers which always begin with the number 9. GM produce always starts with the number 8

3) www.responsibletechnology.org is the resource you asked for above.

4) Complain to stores and companies. Japan and Europe have been successful in getting rid of most GM foods by consumer demand. There is mention here in the newsletter that a significantly large religious group here in the US could in effect pull this off. Maybe part of our rEVOLution should be demanding non-GM foods from major food processors?

Here in VT there was a huge outcry from the public about the rBGH in milk and milk products and so they made it legal to label non-rBGH. Vermont dairy is a good source if you have access to it (Cabot, Ben & Jerry's) for non-hormone products.

What publicity? Monsanto has been bankrolling an effective censorship of anti-GMO groups far more effectively than the MSM has been censoring Ron Paul. I bet if you ask most Americans, they don't even know that GM foods are available on the market, much less that they consume them daily.

I've known about Monsanto for 10 years. And I've talked to most people I know about them. We've made good progress here in VT but Monsanto is an altogether different kind of beast and even wide scale boycotts, I fear, will not make a difference.
