The world according to monsanto.

It is important to note that just because Monsanto practices poor business ethics, GM foods are not by default evil.

GM foods have a world of benefits, Monsanto is just trying to capitalize on those as best they can. That involves a lot of shady practices.

What disturbs me the absolute most about what I just saw, is the specter of transgenic contamination.

My colleagues and I are flipping out over this.
I always suspected that Monsanto was up to no good but damn....!

Sounds like a plan.
A plan to royally screw us all.

Is there anyway someone where a clear thinking mind could possibly condone this? The reasons for this are clear. They mean to manufacture famines, prevent people from living off the grid, and the want to completely dominate all aspects of our lives.

If you think that its all well and good here you had better think very carefully.

WRONG! the gmo's are created by injecting a virus into perfectly natural dna. viruses were found to be the only thing that could break through the protective barrier of dna. those viruses are now opening the cells of honeybees and other insects and infecting their dna.

all living beings should steadfastly avoid gmo foods. they are poison.

No kidding -- this goes WAY beyond 'poor business ethics' into rational 'end of the world' scenarios.

Just curious what your source is on the viruses. When I genetically modified e-coli, I used something called "primers" which were a strand of nucleic acids that used DNA polymerases to essentially "chew" apart the original DNA strand and replace it with the sequence in the primer, via a PCR (polymerase chain reaction.)

I never used any viruses, but that was over 8 years ago, I'm sure things may have changed. But I'd love to see how it works with viruses. It sounds much simpler than using a PCR.

What is Monsanto's responsibility for dispersal of their modified seed contaminating pure crops?

Someone please correct me, but I believe they don't have any. I remember something like this happened to a Canadian farmer and they sued him.

Amy, you can find that information in the most excellent documentary called The Future of Food by Deborah Koons Garcia. The DVD is totally worth it as you can do showings with your family, friends and colleagues (as we have done here in Austin multiple times). www.thefutureoffood.com

Exactly. It is thought that Monsanto purposely has allowed their seeds to blow from their trucks so the wind picks them up and drops them in random fields. The farmer that's featured in The Future of Food documentary had Monsanto roaming around in their fields where they supposedly discovered one of their patented plants growing. They sued him and because they're such big guns and the farmer decided to fight back, the farmer lost everything.

And I thought that AT&T was the evil giant. Monsanto makes them seem tame in comparison.

This is accurate as far as I can determine.
A couple of farmers in the midwest went through the same scenario.

Monsanto has politicians in their pocket
There is no accounability.

The Dept Of Agriculture actully works with Monsanto.
