You've got that right. This state is as corrupt as they come. Besides that, it seemed a little unfair to have pages and pages of delegates, and the Paul delegates were the absolute last ones listed, even behind the uncommitted delegates and the Santorum delegates. Romney was the first. Is it just me, or does it seem like that was deliberate? If you don't want someone to win, it just makes sense to bury their names under pages and pages of other delegate names.

I'd have to see the orders from all counties to confirm a random distribution...i.e. I'm not ruling out dirty deeds.

Even as a delegate candidate (At-Large), I'm chalking this up as a simple loss.

We did have some solid numbers though for WV....I mean I got 7000+ votes! I was optimistically hoping for a couple thousand at best.

I'm still pissed though....

But yeah, this is the other conservatives just seeing it as a protest vote not mattering whose name it was by, instead of a way to still actually block Romney. Media is scarily powerful.

However, for some reason, it says there are over 16,000 votes from my county, which is the second smallest in the state. Apparently I wasn't aware that my county had over doubled in population size since the 2010 census, which recorded just over 7,000 people living here. Projections say there are over 8,000 now, but we still need way more than double that to even consider the idea that there are over 16,000 voters alone, not to mention those who didn't vote.

The SOS says I got 7,751, the AP says I got 10,454. The SOS page is not showing complete results at this point.

It's still very cool at some level, 10,000-ish people voted for us.

And when compared to the highest Rombama delegate candidates, we're around 40-50% of the real vote.

So through that lens, not a bad performance, just not enough for a win.

but if there are 16 000 votes from your county and you got over 9000 shouldn't you be a delegate? because three others couldn't have gotten more than you.... or am I mixing counties and districts?

On the local news they were reporting some vote fraud out of Lincoln County which has always had a history of fraud along with the surrounding counties. Personally I think there is fraud all over, but they make those southern counties the scapegoats.

No, I was an at-large candidate, not a district candidate. I got about 1% of the vote. Nobody in the at-large race got more than 2%.

This has been my first ever political experience, and I cannot be more satisfied with the candidate I ran under or the group of delegates I ran with. While I am disappointed with the results, I am surprised with the amount of support myself and the other delegates throughout the state got. I received 10,260 votes according to AP, and while this doesn't put me close to the top 19 at all, it is nice to know approximately 1 out of every 11 voters in the state marked a Paul delegate. We were among hundreds of names on the ballot, and still saw a nice level of support. I believe we all saw great support in each of our home counties. About 1 out of every 5 people in my county marked myself and the other Paul delegate from my area. I can take this in two different ways: We have a decent amount of support in our county; however, this also shows that we did not do a nearly good enough job pushing for the other Paul delegates in our area. Either way, the fight doesn't stop here. If it comes to it, I am fully prepared for a battle in November. For now, I am still going to rally support for Paul and try to contact other delegates to see if their allegiances have changed over time.
