The War that Reshaped the Middle East Forever (Iran–Iraq War)

Interesting how the U.S. was involved in both sides of the Iran–Iraq War and how it would have never happened if we didn't install the Shah in 1953 (leading to the weakened Iranian military following the 1978 revolution). I also didn't know we shot down an Iranian passenger jet which killed 290 people.

We mistook the passenger jet for one of the 79 F-14 Tomcats that we supplied Iran with when the Shah was in power. The video mistakenly says F-16, but anyways that is another interesting fact I did not know about.
