Hungary has vowed to block censorious attempts from globalist Eurocrats such as Guy Verhofstadt to impose sanctions on Tucker Carlson for interviewing Russia’s Vladimir Putin.

Amid the left-wing establishment furore over Carlson’s decision to interview the Russian head of state, former Belgian prime minister and current member of the European Parliament, Guy Verhofstadt called for an EU travel ban to be imposed on the American journalist and for the bloc to begin the process to levy sanctions External Action Service, the EU’s diplomatic controlled by Spanish socialist Josep Borrell.

However, the body does not have unilateral authority to sanction individuals but rather can merely present evidence to the European Council, the executive arm of the EU composed of the heads of state or government of the EU member states, any of whom has the power to veto a decision.

Therefore, socially conservative Hungary has the ability to block the EU from sanctioning Carlson and on Tuesday confirmed that it would do so if the measure was put before the Council.

Responding to a news story about the potential of EU sanctions on the American journalist, Balázs Orbán, the political director of Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán wrote on social media: “Don’t bother trying – we won’t let it happen!”
 
Gotta say, if you would have told me 15 years ago that the survival of Western Civilization was to a considerable degree in the hands of Hungary, I would have laughed in your face. Yet here we are.

What's interesting is that while it is indeed one of the best documented, it's also been one of the most strongly censored.

After about two weeks into the invasion, the only place you could find pro-Russian (aka the truth) videos was telegram.

Twitter has loosened its censorship since Elon took over but a lot of the early content creators never went back.

Look at what is happening culturally in some Western countries.
 
IMO, Putin is the most intelligent world leader. Viktor Orban is right up there with him but nowhere near as important when it comes to world events. Putin also saved Russia after the collapse of the USSR which was a monumental achievement considering their dismal history and so many actors trying rape the people and resources. That's an ongoing job. I've watched many of his interviews and he's a no bullshit guy who tells it straight. More than once he's given speeches about the west going full Satanic. Nobody else in a position of power has addressed those issues (LGBTQIAP, etc) in such a truthful way. I saw an interview that he gave to a group of reporters where he excoriated them for not doing their homework on the realities of war. He then schooled them on the terrible weapons in the hands of all governments and what those weapons do, stressing that Russia did not want to use them but would in it's own defense and how the west was backing Russia into a corner. If people in the west actually heard these interviews they've be astounded because our own politicians are such fake, lying sacks of shit that the contrast is astounding. His foreign minister, Sergey Lavrov, is also equally intelligent and the best diplomat in the world. While Russia sure doesn't have any legacy of liberty, what's been accomplished there is amazing. These men love their country, unlike the filth in charge in the west and it's apparent when you actually get a chance to listen to them and most people in the west never have.
 
That was intriguing. I jumped around a fair bit but just watching a 71-year old Putin hold forth for 2 full hours is impressive. His comments at the end about reuniting the people of Russia and the people of Ukraine, and particularly about the Ukrainian Orthodox Church were moving.

Was Tucker wearing an earpiece like Putin? I couldn't see it if he was....

What a great interview. Having listened to many Putin speeches and candid talks, over the years, he is consistent in what he says because he's not a liar. The Russian history was deep, interesting and relevant to understanding what the relationship is between Ukraine and Russia.

I mentioned, in a post above, a video I saw where he was speaking with a group of reporters. I found that video. I'm not certain, now, if they're reporters or government officials who would brief reporters at home. He speaks about the same thing he talked to Tucker about - missile defense systems and how Russia tried to end these arms races but the west refused. It's a much shorter video but well worth watching and you'll see how he said the same thing then (2016) as he did to Tucker, though he goes into more detail on those weapons systems:
