The Trump DOJ Indicted a YouTuber, and It's Crap

I'm not so much concerned with the body slam as I am with the charge of "assaulting and impeding a federal officer." Potentially 6 years for leaning up against a car? Seriously?

Play stupid games win stupid prizes? Shrug

Most people's tolerance for "mostly peaceful protests" which include protesters blocking traffic is over.

Body slam? Many people would advocate just running them over, whether it be police or just a regular person trying to drive home or to work.

And it should be noted, this has nothing to do with this Kat woman being a "YouTuber", as if that gives her some authority or special status.

How do you feel about Jan 6?

Which freeway were they blocking again?

At least they went to the right place to protest.

And if you want to cry about some leftist protester getting pushed out of the way as being excessive, you can compare that to the Ashli Babbitt treatment...

Potentially - but not probably.

Six years is the maximum, for really egregious cases. This one won't come anywhere close to that. If this is her first time (and as far as I know, it is), then if she's convicted, she's apt to get time served (if any) and probation. My guess is that if she does any time at all, it'll only be for a few months (maybe up to year, if they really want to "send a message" and make an example out of her).

And I don't really have a problem with that. Her behavior was clearly and intentionally obstructive. I've watched a lot of police interaction videos, and I've seen a lot of entirely unwarranted "obstruction/impeding/etc."-type charges handed out. It's one of their favorite "catch-all" fallbacks when they want to jam someone up but don't have some other valid legal basis for doing so. Such charges will often end up being dropped altogether - but only after the defendant has been made to jump through the hoops of retaining a lawyer, appearing in court, etc. (File under: "you might beat the rap, but won't beat the ride". Cross-index with: "the process is the punishment".) That doesn't seem to be what's happening here, though. She fucked around, and got selected for finding out.

In this video I discuss Ultra-woke Democratic congressional candidate Kat Abughazaleh crying victim after she was arrested for attacking an ICE vehicle, claiming her prosecution is political, even tho she is caught on video.

 Got it. So being a part of a mob that has threatened to murder of government official (I don't care what you think of Mike Pence he still didn't deserve to be hung) and smashing windows and climbing through a barricade armed with a knife isn't as bad as obstructing a ICE agents car. Got it. Nobody in this story has claimed anyone was in fear of his or her life of the life of anyone else. The January 6th mob caused MANY people to be in fear of their lives including some Republicans.

Okay. I don't think the "gotcha" is her being "caught on video" since that is mentioned in the video I posted. But the fact that she would agree with the prosecution of anti-abortion protestors doing the same thing or less is rather suspect.

The ones involved that weren't federal agents?

Which freeway were they blocking again?

At least they went to the right place to protest.

Watch the video.

The theory being advanced by the government is that everyone in the crowd can be charged with every crime committed by anyone in the crowd. With or without identifying or charging the people who actually committed those crimes.

Back to Jan 6, that means that every single person in the crowd, regardless of where or when, even the ones who didn't go inside, get charged with every single crime that was committed.

I don't think the "gotcha" is that she was merely "caught on video" - it's that the video she was caught on clearly shows her doing what she has been charged with (i.e., obstructing/impeding), contrary to her claim that she is being politically prosecuted simply to punish her for exercising her First Amendment rights.

She obviously doesn't give a damn about the First Amendment, as demonstrated by her support for prosecuting anti-abortion protestors (as you pointed out). She's just deflecting from the fact that the video pretty clearly demonstrates that she's guilty as charged. The First Amendment stuff is just a smokescreen, which is why she bailed out of the interview as soon as she was confronted with the "gotcha" of a video showing her actually doing what she has been charged with doing.

You're entitled to your opinion, but I never argued that she wasn't obstructing anything.
