It is an ongoing erosion of US sovereignty towards even more centralized (globally) governmental structures where only the largest special interests have a seat at the table to create policy over us all. It is an alarming occurance and this is yet another new threshold point that these people are implied to have jurisdiction of any sort here, when they have none.

Before you get exited it's just petitions by individuals in 15 different states (located here: https://petitions.whitehouse.gov/petitions)

Seems like more of a bunch of people just upset by the results of the election. Asking the president to allow your state to secede probably isn't the way to actually do it until you have a state legislature declaring that that's what it wants, but I was amused to see states like Colorado, Oregon, New York and New Jersey on the list.

Come prepared to discuss / brainstorm: an organizational structure for the group, a formal manifesto / vision and mission, potential strategy, non-profit status, volunteer-drives, etc. I'll have a more formal agenda at the meeting.

I could not make is as I am strongly tied to our land via the livestock, but if you are interested, I would be willing to help with the items listed. My writing skills are fair to middling these days and I am a strategist with long experience.
