Ditto. The first show to capture the reality of family life.
Best moment in TV history for me was the 4th season of Babylon-5, but overall it was probably Ruby killing Oswald. That's when every reasoning adult at the time knew there had to be a conspiracy. For those who're a little slow, it might have been RFK being shot by a Palestinian with memory problems...
Another moment forever burned into my mind was 1-2 nights after 9/11, a TV crew was interviewing some volunteers doing clean-up work at Ground Zero, just regular civilian New Yorkers who wanted to help out. After the overwhelming scenes that dominated the news prior, having an unscripted moment with regular people was a rejuvenating experience. And one of them used this opportunity to put out a message, as naive as it might seem, addressing the president - "Mr Bush, they say they're just gonna build a memorial here, but that ain't right. We don't just need a memorial, Mr Bush, we need those towers rebuilt. Build three of them. Or build a few stories taller. We don't need just a monument." After that, the 82-story "Freedom Tower" built in 10 years (the 164-floor monster in Dubai will be finished in far less time)... It feels like a joke.
