The Simpsons

As a nineteens child, I am so disappointed in what The Simpsons has become. The show jumped the shark nearly a decade ago, and new episodes rarely hold a candle to the perfect pacing, sharp wit and endearing characterization of what the original writers were capable of; I also abhor the switch to CGI. /rant

Not good or bad. A talking head says he is about to but heads with Ron, Rand, Romney and Paul Ryan. The show is about the election and seems to look at it from our point of view.

There was a 'strolling marquis thingie' (not sure what it's called)at the bottom of the screen during the episode like you would find on a news show.....lots of funny stuff about everyone except Dr Paul...such as "Obama calls for mulligan on first term", and "Perry signs his own execution order".

Funny, I was just watching my Simpsons' DVD. I don't have anything past season 9 because I consider that the last season. I blame Mike Scully for running the show into the ground once he got his hands on it and tried to make it a kid's show.

The 3rd, 4th, 5th, and 6th seasons had some of the greatest writing in the history of television as far as I'm concerned. The other seasons are good but those seasons were just knockout after knockout.

Alright I'm done with my little rant.

What's depressing about the Simpsons is when they began I was closest to Maggie's age and now I'm closest in age to Homer. :( I keep waiting to get the news that they've been cancelled.

My favorite ticker items from this episode...

- Satan tweets support for Santorum
- Congress postpones end of world to 2013
