Let's stop running focusing on the low hanging fruit so much. Who is up for running for Texas governor on a true freedom platform? If you are, we are looking for you. If you want to help in finding one, we are looking for you, too.

The new Blog dealing with this subject is Texas Governor Search. Come see us there and help make sure that one of our next governors will be a man or woman of freedom and the rule of law, not the usual kind (of power and graft).

Join the discussion. Let's go for the gold. The executive power in Texas is an awesome one. It can be used for freedom and to keep Texas out of the grubby fingers of unlawful federal jurisdiction. It can be used to stop unconstitutional new laws from the legislature dead in their tracks. It can empower Sheriffs to keep IRS and other federal agents from operating with impunity within their counties.

A freedom-loving Texas governor can also

- mobilize the National Guard and militia to protect our southern border,
- stop the TTC cold in its tracks for good,
- authorize an audit for all departments,
- veto or approve the budget,
- appoint the secretary of state who'll demand hand counted paper ballots,
- appoint judges who'll be non partisan/constitutional in their decisions and
- pardon political as well as non violent prisoners, who really need to be in rehab,

Running for city council is okay, I guess, but nobody will get excited about it in he city next door. The freedom fighters in the state will not be united under the banner of a candidate for south Angleton dog catcher, or whatever - but a fight to keep Kay Hailey Bitchinson from foisting another four years of Perry-like arrogance on Texans is at least worth everyone's time!

If you want to help, feel free to check in.

Yes I definitely think that Ron would do well as the TX governor. He might win too.

Don't want Ron Paul to run for Texas Governor, he will lose his seat in the House because you can't be on the ballot more than once in Texas, unless one office is President of the United States.

Thanks Alex! Great to see you here. :)

I see the blog lists that Penny can't run for governor- why is this?

BTW- here's some discussion from your Nolan Chart piece "Why Ron Paul Must Run for Texas Governor":

Hi Bryan:

Penny cannot run because she has a serious concern about one of her teenage children. She is not willing to sacrifice the wellbeing of her family to a political career. She has indicated that she will consider running after her problem has been taken care of. She is a very private person as you can imagine, so she didn't specify what exactly the problem is, and I didn't ask. Thanks for the link!
