A little hope after New Hampshire....

http://www.libertymaven.com/2008/01...-paul-and-the-path-to-liberty-in-my-lifetime/

Much has been said recently blaming the official Ron Paul campaign organization for not doing things properly to get Paul the GOP nomination. They have not done things perfectly, but even a perfect campaign would not secure the nomination for Ron Paul in the election of 2008.

The problem is that America is not quite ready for Ron Paul. More accurately, America is not ready for the message of true liberty. We have to learn to accept it after the results in the Iowa Caucus and the New Hampshire Primary. This does not mean we should stop the wonderful things we are doing. In fact, it means quite the opposite. Donate more money. Keep canvassing. Sign up as a precinct captain. Do whatever it takes to maximize the Ron Paul vote.

His movement of support suggests that someday America will be ready. Revolutions take time to build. George W. Bush sparked this revolution with his failed policies. He made it possible. We can thank him for that. Ron Paul lit the fire for the revolution with his candidacy. Ron Paul Republican candidates and grassroots supporters all across the country will keep that fire lit long after Ron Paul announces the end of his campaign.

I now believe true liberty is attainable 4 years from now. The best potential for this is if three things occur.

Great article. We must be patient and work for the long term goal.

The economy is going to get worse and a lot of people will lose their homes due to the housing crisis. The Government is bankrupt and the dollar is doomed. This crises cannot be fixed - it will take many years to just work through and only a recession and probably a long one can "fix" these problems.

The American people are not yet ready to face these facts. The interesting thing is that it is not in our interest to win in 2008. The next president will not be a hero!

We need to continue the grassroot work and talk to the people we know. Explain the issues and explain the solutions. During the next 4 years more and more people will understand that the Ron Paul way is the only way for America. We need to be ready for 2012!

Keep up all the good work!

I agree. All of us RP supporters want change now, but the rest of America is purposefully kept clueless on the economy, the war, all the other major issues. Soon they will wake up. If the predicted economic collapse is correct then that will probably be the event where "they" wake up and understand that the government wasn't created or meant to run their lives.

I want change now, but I'm willing to have patience and give it more time while continuing to spread the message.

This is a liberty campaign for the long haul. The founders knew this and we lose liberty through apathy. Ron Paul supporters know a lot more than 90% of the sheeple, I am proud to be a member of this forum of such knowledgable intelligent people from all walks of life. Never give up the fight for liberty, tyranny is no option.

We suffered from mutiple blows. Blackout by MSM, the likes of which have NEVER been seen.
As posted above, a citizenry that is either ingorant, lazy, apathetic, burned out from previous attempts to effect change or, if involved, for missplaced ideals or financial gain. And I am going to add a possible chance of vote machine rigging. The fact is there is not even an attempt to pretend to verify the count. So no one can say for sure it is all on the up and up.
Just look at the actual results verse the demograhics of the last two votes. These populations are fairly isolated from, and have more of a common identity than the rest of the Nation. If, and it is a big if, the results, as helter-skelter as they are as they are being represented there, how can we expect a predictable outcome in states such as Michigan, South Carolina and Florida. With what we just saw, Guiliani could "all of a sudden have surged in the polls" and the media lapdogs would have spread it far and wide, no questions asked. No, we have been sold a bill of goods. Our fate was sealed years ago, we just did not know it until now. The money was too great, the power too addictive.
I went through this with Pat Buchanan, and we knew, and had far fewer resources back then, through the 'polling' verses the contacts we made on the street, that either the people were lie-ing to us or the election officials were. Again, we were not alowed to verify.
Anyway, we are not out until Ron Paul says we are out. Suck it up and head to warmer climes. Well except Michigan. But is that not old Mitt Romney stomping grounds? So, they might keep Romney proped up by presenting him a win there, or they could make him look bad with a poor showing. Who knows what the agenda is behind the massive boardroom doors that we only see in our nightmares.

Great article and commentary

I had really hoped that the time for the message of true change and liberty championed by Ron Paul was now. I still want to believe, but it seems that a large majority of Americans are still steadfastly asleep and oblivious.

As stated this will be a longer battle that will extend beyond this election. More and more people ARE waking up to this message of Liberty, Restoration, and True Change. We DO need to maintain, grow, and continue exactly what we are doing to spread the message, and word of Ron Paul's candidacy. Reach as many as possible and get out the vote!

Ron Paul is the spark that has helped lay the foundations for a movement. The Revolution is truly just beginning....

It does not take a majority to prevail...but rather an irate, tireless minority, keen on setting brushfires of freedom in the minds of men." Samuel Adams
