The ONLY thing Ron Paul needs to focus on in tonights debate!

He's been talking about these things for AGES, economy, debt, wars, etc etc & it isn't getting him anywhere because people are least bothered, people want someone who'll beat Obama, if you aren't that guy then nothing else you say matters so he needs to tell people that he's the ONLY Republican that can garner enough Indies & Dems to beat Obama, he's leading the pack amongst Indies, Dems, non-whites, all of which are very important voting-blocks in the General Election & he needs to emphasize he's only one can challenge Obama on economy (he predicted the bubble), wars (Obama was "peace-candidate"), Obamacare (he's a Dr :)), civil liberties (voted against Patriot Act, NDAA, SOPA) & so on

Correct. If he cannot come out swinging and elevate himself in this debate and on the stump then honestly I don't think there is anything that we as grassroots supporters can do to help him get elected. Like it or not this is politics and you have to adjust and adapt your strategy as the campaign progresses. Ron Paul has done a fantastic job at energizing a small base of dedicated supporters. Now he needs to convince 50% of GOP voters that he is the best candidate to lead the party into the general election. Failure to do so will result in failure at the polls.

No. He needs to focus on Austrian Economics and how we would feel if China had warships in the Gulf of Mexico and how "wipe Israel off the map" doesn't mean the same thing in Farsi as it does in English....

I agree 100% with OP. You want a campaign surge? Ron Paul needs to call out Obama. He needs to let people know he is ready for the general election and why he offers an actual win over Obama where none of the other candidates would.

I think he should focus on how Newt, Mitt, Santorum are all the same (flip/flopers) and for big government like the Democrats just on different issues.

Or how Paul has a consistent voting record and he will not lie to the American people to get elected.

Or how Paul brings in the most independent/young voters which gives him the best chance in beating Obama over the rest.

If he covers some of the above in some way he will have a good showing.

I did "tell" Paul to focus on "how Paul has a consistent voting record and he will not lie to the American people to get elected." He did use the word consistent. Maybe someone at his camp took my advice lol
