Republicans can't complain about four more years under Democrats when this is what they bring to the table #RNCinCLE

Assisting an elderly man who was crippled in combat to stand is "cringeworthy?

I think your entire post on the matter is cringeworthy.

No, I think parading him around and literally waving his hand to the audience is cringeworthy. They yanked him to his feet, so if someone's being inconsiderate, it's not me. It's the people who think that's "assistance."

I also think the Rudy flinging his arms up over and over and yelling about how Hillary had the terrible idea to interfere overseas with Libya and now we're seeing chaos and blowback... given his history with conversations about blowback... is cringeworthy.

I think that having to spell that out on this forum is cringeworthy.

I think that security being "unprecedented" for this event and a sign listing banners as prohibited, then some lady sneaking in a pretty big banner right before their VP pick, is cringeworthy because it smacks of being staged or of utter incompetence.

I think that portraying the Colorado delegate walking out as a whiny racist cowboy is cringeworthy.

Do I need to list all of it? I mean there's only 10,000 more reasons I hate these damned conventions.

But do make it about my perceived disrespect for "injured veterans." (btw his left arm issues are as a result of a medical procedure in the 2000's, not the war, so the people helping him wave were not assisting him in any way related to war injuries, but please do make assumptions)

I don't know when that particular photo was snapped, but there have been empty seats throughout. The media's making a great big deal out of it, though it's the first day of the convention, so maybe people are just pacing themselves.

There's Trump people here and there's Hillary schills masquerading as libertarians.

Typical Trump supporter throwing out lies as usual. Just because the libertarians don't support an authoritarian like Trump, they are Hillary schills. Come up with something that hasn't been said for the last 8 years.

Okay,...you hate conventions but you watch them just is case there's an opportunity to make snide comments about a crippled old man.

I went to a state convention and the rally for the republic in Minnesota. A lot of people were not in their seats throughout, milling around, even Byran was manning a booth.

There are no Hillary supporters here and you know it. Why can't Trump people stop lying about this? Give us some names.

We have a few people here that said they were Hillary supporters and then switched to Rand. Their posting history has been favorable to Hillary and they knock anyone that bashes her or DNC talking points. That sure sounds like we have Hillary supporters here.

Yes, they support an authoritarian like Johnson/Weld.

I think that the teleprompter-vote was ridiculous, especially since it's not the first time.

I think the palpable disappointment from the news folks waiting for some racist/sexist/ethnist/homophobic protest clash to happen is sad.

I think the "USA! USA!" chants are really tired and pretty pointless right about now.

I think that the illusion of any significant number of people on the floor voting contrary to what's already been decided is laughable.

I also think you're not very good at reading. I made a comment --- from a healthcare perspective, btw --- about someone who was being yanked up out of their seat by an injured arm, and then had that arm waved around at the crowd. You took that as disrespecting an injured veteran.

And yes, I watch things I hate. These are the people jockeying for important positions in the new regime. These are those who've come to pay homage and curry favor and publicly support Trump. I will wind up watching some of the other convention as well, for similar reasons. Next SOTUS judge is probably somewhere in one audience or another, or knows someone who is. Are you aware of just how many high-level positions need or will need filling? Turning my face away from these conventions won't stop the idiocy and get a sane cadre of people elected. The people stumbling into office are the type to get misty-eyed over platitudes and half-truths and the glare of Trump or Hillary's golden aura.

Are you watching because you LIKE conventions? Or is it that you're waiting for an opportunity to make snide comments about fellow posters

Yep. Especially if the speaker isn't that compelling or famous or whatever, or it's around lunch or dinner or time to go schmooze at the nearest designated bar/restaurant/whatever.

That sign... why do you need "Weapons" and then a listing of several weapons? Seems like that could have been condensed or rearranged.

Yep, that's it. We're too hard on her. I dunno. I think she can take it.

Maybe if she stopped dishing it out....ya think? ;)

I think you mean, if I would just be browbeat in line or run off, like has worked with so many others.

Sorry sista. Ain't ever gonna happen. :D
