To me, the "hit piece" in the TNR is a desperate cry for attention. They're going for notoriety. They are clearly trying to get a response. To get us to react.

Maybe the most appropriate response would be to laugh it off as the pathetic attempt that it is. Perhaps a quiet post on the official website from the campaign. But definitely not a return volley in the MSM. Thats what these guys are hoping for.

Now, if it becomes a MSM issue lasting more than a couple days, then put it to rest. But until then, don't dignify them with a response.

They are clearly threatened. Thats a good sign.

I'm sorry you disagree. But these "reports" are not new. Ron Paul faced these same things back in the '90's. The information is out there. He did not write these articles and nowhere in his writings or speeches is there any evidence that he supported these types of viewpoints.

My point is just that an overreactive response could be taken as "damage control". This is not a "damage control" type of movement.

We are fighting for Ron Paul because of the truth of his message. Truth does not need "damage control".

Speak for yourself. Also, try replacing "You are wrong" with "I disagree". Just because you're giving up doesn't mean you need to drag others down with you.

I see your point. Well taken. The basic thought behind my point was that we don't need to panic about this. Its nothing new.

If I could re-name the title of my thread I would have said something to the point of "Don't freak out", or "calm down". I didn't think of it quickly enough and responded with that.

I understand what you are saying. When I say that, I am talking to people I assume to be fellow Ron Paul Supporters on a Grassroots Campaign Support web site.

I would probably not take that approach with my neighbor when canvassing, or to anyone just getting introduced to the message of this campaign. I would respond with Ron Paul's exact response issued on the website.

I certainly do not want to come off as uncaring and foolhardy. If that was truly the case, I wouldn't even have bothered with the thread.

I know this will be dealt with but start with the basics of showing how Ron Paul practices what he preaches. Puts his money or better our money where is mouth, values truly are.

Ron Paul is just the messenger. This time it is different. It is a concern, an uprising from the bottom up.
