**The Official** Austin, Texas billboard picture thread

How much do these billboards actually cost? It probably depends on the location but I'm just asking for an estimate.

If they are highly effective, I'd love love to do many more. Not just for Ron Paul, but other endorsed Congressmen.

The leasing rate per 4 weeks depends on the location and DEC (daily expected commuters). Then the vinyl production and installations are about the same per size.

The location of our billboard is in one of the most highly traveled and expensive in the country.

Billboard lease for 4 weeks $7,000 with DEC of 250,000
Vinyl production and installation was about $1,000.

The billboard looks great. I wish we would have done this in every Super Tuesday state a long long time ago. :o

I agree, we had plans when we launched in November to do a campaign to cover all the states for Super Tuesday and etc... We launched at the same time as the blimp and that project was so viral and had so much attention it was hard to generate that level of funds. We were struggling to reach the goals for just one billboard in each of the early primaries. If we could have raised a large number of funds we could have had billboards all over and could have reached millions for sure. That's why billboards are so effective, you are guaranteed that a large number of people will see it everyday. Moving forward we have plans for more markets and using billboards to educate the public on these important issues.

Great exposure today. It was raining and the traffic was a mess from 3pm on... probably now. People were parked in front of the billboard all day.

We have received great feedback from emails and on forums from people in Austin who have seen it. When I was out taking pictures a couple of days ago, people were honking and giving thumbs up while I was on the side embankment. We have made some local news wires and websites with our press release. I'm sure the TV news will cover it once it gets closer to the primary. Nobody can miss it due to the location we picked. I plan on filming the traffic and commuters stuck and catch them viewing the billboard when I have some time next week.

Ron Paul will be down here next Saturday the 23rd at UT which is next to the billboard so I know he will see it!

Kerry and I have driven by it and hanged out underneath it in the parking lot all week. It's the new meet up spot for me and my friends :D
