They probably didn't even contact Dr. Paul so that he could defend himself. These people are bigger consiparcists than some of us. Giuliani needs to go down for this. If Tim Russert says that it was caused by Giuliani than I am going to believe thats true.

Three really bad things on one day. I'm not normally one for conspiracies, maybe I've been hanging out with you guys for too long, but this is a little odd.

It the authors interview with Tucker he said he had been in contact with Jesse Benton.

Who says Russert said it was caused by Guilianni? I just saw him on Hardball and he said Rudy was very worried about placing behind Ron. They said nothing else during the brief time I was watching. What are you talking about? What is your source? I'm just worried because this is how completely baseless rumors get started and then send everyone down the wrong path looking for a villain to blame.

I am not aware of any known connection between Rudy and and this New Republic hit piece. Please be specific (source) if you are going to suggest stuff like that otherwise we are doing the very same smearing that they are doing to Ron.
 
Ok. Here is what I'm worried about. This guys isn't claiming to have Racist material from a couple newsletters, put out over a short period of time. That could be explained away by the ghostwriter we've all heard about. Unfortunately, this guys claims he's going to show racist quotes from the newsletters spanning two decades.....

That can't be explained away as an abberration. No, it's a pattern. What I'm hoping is that all the quotes will be in "code words," as he calls it. Meaning, he could simply be reading into these quotes whatever his bias could dream up. I'm hoping for the best, but I'm feeling sick about this.

I am very, very worried about this one, folks. The campaign needs to get an explanation out pronto.

I listened to the interview, and all of his damaging quotes are from the single newsletter, rest assured.
 
Racism is simply an ugly form of collectivism, the mindset that views humans only as members of groups and never as individuals. Racists believe that all individual who share superficial physical characteristics are alike; as collectivists, racists think only in terms of groups. By encouraging Americans to adopt a group mentality, the advocates of so-called “diversity” actually perpetuate racism. Are you sure? He said he's going to show this kind of writing spanned 20 years.

I thought I read somewhere that this stuff will be posted on their sight later tonight. We shall. In the mean time, this sucks.
 
Don't forget the new republic already has bad credibility from the Stephen Glass controversy.

I agree the campaign HAS TO RESPOND. It is a necessity for the campaign to fight these attacks; I can not believe that the campaign has failed to release a statement disproving these attacks. They had to have known stuff like this was going to be brought up, it has happened in the past to Buchanan and Goldwater. I am just baffled that they have no response prepared to combat these smears...Staying silent is the worst thing to do because it indicates guilt to the public.

To fight off this stuff the campaign should bring up the fact that in 1988 Paul was one of the few who argued against the war on drugs because it was unconstitutional and it discriminated against African Americans-just look at the clip on Morton Downey, that does not sound like a racist.

Also Paul has said in past interviews (for instance the Google interview) that he supports the rights of individuals (gay or straight) to get married. Stating stuff like this would totally debunk the attacks. The problem is the campaign seems to fall into a coma every time one of these attacks is launched. The grassroots cant fight this battle alone! We need HQ to respond.

We'll see. When you make a false allegation that someone's talking "in code," you can pretty much make up whatever crap you want.

This Kuchick needs to be sued. Along with the letter he wrote, and also because the NY Times discredited this last year, it's pretty certain it was done intentionally to harm this campaign.

Good Grief...If I got discredited in this manner, I'd be suing everyone. UGH!
