Overnight the narrative has changed all over the media and internet. No longer is it Ron Paul the 3rd party candidate, it has become Ron Paul the kingmaker. Ron Paul is the guy they are saying will shape the convention and the platform going forward. Sounds like they are trying to give him concession to back off trying to win this thing. It is a dangerous line of thinking for us to try and accept. It sounds really nice, but it doesn't accomplish as much as you think. Paul can't control someone once they are in the whitehouse after all. What are y'alls views on this?

He doesn't want to be kingmaker any more than he wants to be king. But he's running for president because we need someone honest in the White House. If he doesn't go to the White House, there is really no other honest choice--and he can't snatch some honest person out of nowhere and 'make a king out of' him or her.

So, it's just another distraction, and another way to say 'he can't win' without being so obvious as to dismiss him altogether (now that we've fixed it where that won't work any more).

I don't care. I'm out to make a president out of him. No one but Paul!

The narrative needs to be that the Republicans can choose Romney and lose the White House, or they can choose the only other electable Republican, Ron Paul, and have a chance of winning the White House.

"Ron Paul is insignificant."

"Ron Paul will probably just end up being a 3rd party candidate."

"Ron Paul is the GOP kingmaker."

..... after Super Tuesday, they'll be saying "Oh. my. god. Ron Paul can win this thing!"

The media must go through the "grieving process" as their false reality is now dying and being replaced with actual reality. I say let them grieve. :p

What good is trying to move the platform to his direction? Are they really going to do it? So Romney or some other warmonger piece of trash has to campaign closer to our views, and when he gets elected starts handing out bailouts and dropping bombs. It is pointless. Fuck giving a speech and trying to influence the platform. If Ron Paul isn't the nominee I don't care what the platform is. I don't care if the party exists anymore.

If Ron Paul isn't the nominee I don't care what the platform is.

You make your position sound so unreasonable. It isn't. We've seen the platform ignored by the candidate that just ran on it so often that it doesn't seem like the candidates 'stand on' the platform at all--more like they trample it underfoot instead.

Perfectly reasonable to assume it means nothing at all. Unfortunately.

I absolutely agree. I almost think they will push for a Romney/Rand campaign just to quiet Ron and appease his supporters. Won't work, but I could see them trying it.

"I'm not running just to win. I am running to change the course of history" --Ron Paul

Sarah Palin was set up to be Kingmaker up until about a year ago.

Ron Paul is not in this fight to get his own Fox News show.

Lots of content to make a kicka$$ video timeline.

Media: "Our viewership is not as stupid as we thought".
